Yes, it is. It's the warmest, most organic Prince album
to date. Not the best, but it surely is something very
special. A classic by any means.

TRC is a classic. The music imo totally kicks ass and I love the way the narration links the story together. I constantly listen to TRC and voted this album no.1 on my fav albums a few days ago. A classic indeed nod

Hey, now. I'll actually defend "Rave IN2" - it kicks the ass of "Rave Un2" with one arm tied behind its back.

I guess cuz the style of music on TRC appeals to most fams.

Where have you been the past 25 years? There's more than one "style" of music on here and he's used them all in various forms before.

Overall, the style can only be appreciated by a small group of people. The majority of music listeners will say TRC sucks. Most dedicated Prince fans I know thinks it sucks too. TRC is beyond the categories of any of Prince's old stuff. And as bad as Rave is, at least it has So Far So Pleased. For me, TRC doesn't have one good track. Hell, it doesn't even have a track I can tollerate. It really makes me sick.

I love TRC!

After having listened to ONA...Live! for a while, I particularly enjoyed revisiting the studio versions of Muse 2 the Pharaoh, Mellow and The Everlasting Now.

Also, Rainbow Children, The Work, pt 1, Family Name and 1+1+1 is 3 are incredibly enjoyable!

Extraloveable album!

Prince is finally doing something new again!

It doesn't match up to the 80s classics 1999, PR, Parade or SOTT, simply because they can't be matched.

TRC is definitely a cult classic imho.

ranks up with the 80s classics and some 90s work (Come, Gold, Exodus, Love Symbol).

It gets a little better with each listen, but I don't consider it a classic any more than Graffiti Bridge, The Gold Experience, or Chaos & Disorder. It may be earnest and full of meaning, but that in and of itself doesn't make it a "classic" album. It's a good album. Musically, it's just about as good as anything P has done.

But on par with 1999, Purple Rain, Parade, Sign O' The Times and even Lovesexy? Not in my humble opinion.

Why is it okay to praise everything Prince does, but it's not okay to criticize it?

Depends on how you would efine "classic" Rdhull. if you mean groundbreaking, innovating, inspirational, orginal, never done before stuff then I would say...: hell no.

If you mean it is an album that has quality music on it and is 10 times better than NPS, rave and 1999 the new master all together then I would say: hell yes.

But you don't mean that and judging it as a classic is by all means subjective, meaning dependend on the personal taste of people. My persoanl taste says that I like the music very much, it rocks and it funks like Prince hadn't done for a long time. This album isn't just about music tho'. After a year or so I have found that it lacks the soul/ feeling and thoughts I was used to feel and think when listening to true Prince classics.
You are not my "friend" because you threaten my security.
