I think the JW religion & Larry etc. was at the right place, at the right time when prince needed them, & probably no, he wouldnt have joined the JW'S unless he was in need as he then was. There would probably have been something else...when ppl go through hard times & religion especially, enters their life of turmoil, they tend 2 see it as God being there 4 them and wanting 2 direct their way. So we grab onto that and tend 2 see it as an omen of sorts, go with it, & help all we can 2 see that it DOES indeed work, & that it was Gods calling 2 us. So at that time, THAT was the religion & the ppl surrounding prince & helping him were 2 him, I imagine, the choices 2 cling 2 bcuz they were there. I dont feel HE sought out the JW'S, but he does feel they had HIS answers he was looking 4.
