I know full well that there are some truly great musicians other than Prince, of course I do. I also regularly enjoy the music of many other musicians and artists other than Prince, and from many different genres. I know that Prince has sometime released, written and performed material that has not been so great. I know that Prince has had some unusual and challenging messages delivered through his art, that on occasion I do not subscribe to. I know that Prince has chosen to free himself from the traditional methods of releasing his art, and publicly fallen out with the big record corporations

But what I also know is how much pleasure I have gained from listening to him, watching him perform, and being an admirer of his art over the years! I know that he is there to be criticised, shot down, ridiculed, copied, and dismissed. So what, I also know that when I slip his music into my CD player or watch his performance on my DVD player I will once again be spellbound by his musical accomplishment.

I am glad I enjoy Prince’s music, I consider myself lucky to have been so involved with his career and I will continue to be. So, everyone is entitled to criticise, argue, dislike and bury Prince, that is part of the negative side of being an artist of any kind…. But still... I know!

Believe me, u are speaking 4 many who feel the same way, myself included.
