GRAFFITI BRIDGE: Incidental music, NE 1 else really dig it?

I really love the musical parts between scenes in Graffiti Bridge, such as a improvisiation of Joy in repetition and ? of U, and other slow lead ins. Unfortunately I think you can only get them on the video, although the in the credits it says some of the parts are by Ravel.
I have the film on video, and I was (pleasantly) shocked that the film had such a strong moral message. Even though the film was heavily criticised, I felt that underlying message was a very brave and bold thing to do in an age of glamorised violence.
The album is my favourite Prince album, it is so exploratory and inspiring.
BTW, Is the GB film on DVD?

In a way i agree with u. I tcouldve been better produced. It looked a little 2 fake. The city was too "not real" like everything was propped and stuff, some better acting. But the music was cool in the movie agreed, like the little clip thing in the beginning of "Cant Stop..".

if they had cut out:

Love Machine
Release It
Shake
Melody Cool
Round & Round
latest Fashion

and put those track as seperate ( or on another album) ot would have been very in place with eachother because in a way that album is all over the place 2 me.

Cant Stop
NPG
Question of U
Elephants & Flowers
Tick Tick Bang
Still Would Stand All Time
We Can Funk
Joy In Repitition
Thieves In The Temple
Grafitti Bridge
NPG pt. II

wouldve been really nice. Not to say that those other songs were bad, hell i love me some Melody Cool & latest Fashion
Straight Jacket Funk Affair
Album plays and love for vinyl records.

I love the album as it is.
I dont think people should always try to rewrite history by saying this should or shoudlnt have been done. IE would ppl really want Emancipation on One disc? I wouldnt, i like the quantity as well although i can see the point of the argument.

PP4, those songs you wanted cut out r some of the best to me!!!

There are a couple of classical pieces on here: Dance Sacree, Dance Profane by Debussey...pure class and Introdution and Allegro (I think) by Ravel. Curiously, now I must make sure I've my musical history right here, both these pieces...or certainly the musicians, were in competition with regards the kinds of harp used on both these pieces of music...one played for one manufacturer and the other for another...so there we go, Ravel and Debussey, the Morris E Day The Only and The Kid of their day!

Please don't flame me for this...the facts are all there, they may be in slightly the wrong order.

There was a reason he left 'Cant Stop...' out of the film - cuz the performance is DIRE!

I always loved the background music when "the Kid" is going through his thoughts after a poor reception of his battle song of "Tick Tick Bang." The segment starts with him throwing his guitar through the window, includes voice-overs of Aura giving him advice, and ends with Melody Cool getting Tevin to come in because it's about to storm.

Does anybody know which song plays through this sequence? Also, any idea how I could find a copy of that song?

Yeah Jsh23c I love that part too. I guess the only way is to tape it from video. Unfortunately i dont think there is a DVD version to 'rip' the tracks off.
