If Prince decides to retire tommorrow what would you do?

Cry,Die, Scream ,Mutilate Yourself? What would you feel and what would you do if Prince the Musical Genius said o.k. all this moaning and complaining well F*** It! Wouldn/t you just Hate yourself? I would. What would we do without his talent. Really does anybody else Compare to Prince? I dare say a Royal,Forceful NO! How bout you?

I'd go "awww shucks", and then continue to increase my knowledge of and love for Frank Zappa.

I've already bought 17 of his albums in under 6 months. They've made me very happy! smile

But, naturally, I would hate to see that happen with Prince.

Crumble up into a little ball and cry my eyes out...bang on stuff angrily and cry my eyes out...try to reason with myself and cry my eyes out...put together a fund raiser to get his star on the Hollywood walk (if he shows up).
Its one thing for him to chill for a bit but its another to retire and never do his thing again...ESPECIALLY since he has the ability to do it guitar music dancing jig music

U would take it better then I, who would probably smash an album accidently in my bashing of things in anger...then hate myself later on for doing that

Nothing whatsoever. His talent retired some time ago. There are many other musicians and bands to enjoy.

Anxiety

Hasn't he already 'retired' at least a couple times? And didn't he even 'die' for a while?

I never trust anyone who makes an "absolute" statement - anybody who says they're never going to do anything again always winds up picking up where they left off after a few years of rest. Remember when Bowie said he was never going to do his classic material again after the "Sound+Vision" tour? How many more farewell tours are Cher and KISS going to do, anyway? I bet we'll even see Tina Turner back out on the stage before long.

Because 1 week later, he would for sure retire from retirement.

I thought he did retire, until someone pointed out that he has been doing mediocre music for years, and most people didn't even notice.

He could've retired 10 years ago, but it wouldn't matter to me. As long as we've got his clssic records from the '80s, then I'd be fine with that.

...hmmm But then again I never saw him live, which has been a mission of mine for a while. That's all I need to do. Then he could retire or do whatever the f**k he wants.

You know what I'd do? I'd stop hoping and anticipating and looking forward to the release of a great album or DVD, (which never happens), save about $100.00 a year buying crap, and I'd listen to all his music that I have now.

It would be definately depressing 2 me. We have his music that would last us a lifetime, memories of PP celebrations/parties, movies, the support groups we "run" with 2 rehash "the past" with, memories of his spectacular & energizing concerts, memorabiia & all that...but it would be a rather empty feeling in the air, like it ACTUALLY WAS not too long ago when prince closed down his site/club & NO ONE really knew IF & WHEN it EVER would "RISE" again. If prince was officially saying he's through & retiring 4 good, turning toward a much more reclusive lifestyle in Canada with his new family & bidding the fans adeu. Maybe closing/selling Paisley Park, bulldozing his purple house down, possibly even moving 2 europe. Yes, ALL this had people who love him and dislike him extremely scared. 2 some, if prince doesnt put out music in rapid bursts, the sun stops shining. Nothing 2 look 4ward 2. The same, if some fail 2 see him out & about in Minneapolis, as he is very well known 2 B seen from time 2 time there, as well as elsewhere. If he fails 2 tour, people get antsy. We love our prince 2 B sure, but I do hope he's staying in our vision bcuz he WANTS 2 & not out of obligation or guilt, bcuz someday, he WILL probably say "the HELL with it all" and want 2 spend his remaining years with his family & watching the world go by, enjoying all that he earned, removed from the prying eyes of his suffocating fans & ppl will HAVE/NEED 2 ACCEPT that. PERIOD. It will happen someday. It will be VERY SAD, but so many live their lives "through" prince, that the REAL SAD part will be 4 the ones that just wont B able 2 accept it.
May the BELLS ring 4 U even when ur not in love. hug kisses
