My very first bootlegg is on the fritz! i've had it for about 4 years now, and i think it's on its last legs, which sux cuz it's one of my faves. it's just a studio nights sampler that a fellow orger burnt for me way back when i wuz just startin on the org...i used to play it every single day, too!
then as time went on and i started gettin other bootleggage i neglected it and i damn near forgot about it till last night when i looked in my cd stash and found it...so i dusted it off a bit, popped it in my cd player and listened to it. "leaving for new york" is the last track that's on the cd, and i wuz feelin all warm n'fuzzy... ...then the cd started skippin while it wuz playin!!! i wuz miffed about it, cuz it's one of my fave songs, y'know! why does stuff like this happen, man? ...sowwy, just had to vent a bit.

They have something called a "Skipdr" in the record stow that you can buy to repair CDs that skip. I bought one but never used it, but I suppose they work. You might want to try that. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

Go easy with those Skip Dr.'s. They actually sand away the surface of the disc. An electric buffer will get rid of the scratches and not be as invasive.
Although, if there is a nick on the label side, the disc is forever a coaster. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

I read that this works also. The paste fills in the scratched gap and works as a bridge to avoid the "skip" that it gets from a gap. They have a scratch fixer paste out now also that does the same thing for about $6.00. This worked for me on a cd. I also have the scratch dr. and I agree, it files away a layer of the cd and I am not confident in this process. I am afraid the rest of the cd will be damaged. . "

I might try that toofpaist thing, cause Wonderful Ass can't even be played any more, cause of the crazed skips. Sad, cause that is a classic song. All you others say Hell Yea!!

Actually, it sounds funny, but when I find CD's that skip, I simply burn another copy, and use the new copy. It has worked for me every single time!! 'Sup Finess???
