NEWSFLASH: Typo on N.E.W.S cd

The acutual CD has a copyright date of 2002 instead 2003. Props to NPG Records. smile

By the way: this is album is a really good listen. If you don't feel it, give it a chance.
Listen more. Just my 2 cents. smile

I thought it was recorded in Feb. 2002? I don't know, because my CD still hasn't arrived.

And, didn't One Nite Alone have a copyright of 2001, even though it was released in 2002? It's because the intended release time always varies from the actual release time.

Yeah, as I delicately pointed out to the PeePees when I got my copy in early July, Eric Leeds don't play no goddamn saxaphone. Of course, at the time the froot loops came out and said that it was purposefully misspelled, Prince-like.

You know, sax-a-phone. That actually makes SENSE to some people.

The last time I checked, the flash intro page still said "Subjegation," although they MAY have changed it...I know they finally changed "THEIVES" to "THIEVES IN THE TEMPLE" in that library room, perhaps coincidentally after I chastised them for their lax editing skills.

There was never any concrete answer about whether it was recorded in February 2002 or 2003...although I would think that even the NPGMC would be hard-pressed to mess up the actual release date, and there have been many recent releases that were actually released the year after the copyright, starting with Crystal Ball. That didn't come out until 1998.

But was Prince even playing with Eric Leeds in February, 2002? That was a couple months before I saw him in Florida on the ONA tour...hmmm, I don't know.

No concrete answer has been forthcoming but the way Eric Leeds referred to the session in the NPGMC chat, he seemed to be suggesting that it was recorded in February, 2003.

Q: Are you currently recording with Prince in the Studio?

ERIC LEEDS: Was in with him and the gang last Feb
ALT+PLS+RTN: Pure as a pane of ice. It's a gift.

If you listen to the intro of last year's celebration download of 1+1+1=3 (the part where Prince says "a little grapejelly for yo bread...") you can hear a really similar sound to the opening of East (that weird keyboard sound)! Maybe it really was recorded in 2002?

The second part of South sounds similar to Osaka from CNOTE, yet more developed. My guess is that N.E.W.S. brings together ideas from the band jamming and rehearsing through 2002, making February 2003 more likely. Does anybody here know which period over the last couple of years Eric Leeds has been on the scene?

That actually made me think that it WAS recorded in 2002...I mean, that chat was when, in April or May? Why would you say "last February" if you meant just a couple months ago? Wouldn't you just say "Was with him and the gang in February?" Or not?
