4 those UK Orgers outthere, my Dad told me that Bill Oddie is apparently a big Prince fan the other day. Bit weird isnt it!?

That's right. There was an interview in Mojo a couple of years ago where he said the best gig he saw was Prince's first UK gig.So that's where the gibbon got his funk!

I sat next to Bill Oddie on Aug 12th 86 for he Parade show (his first, and mine).

I was a sixteen year old, and we chatted Prince for a hour before the show started. He had Charade already. He was really into it.

After the show, He invited me and my mate for a drink (He had VIP passes) to a semi private bar (It wasn't the Prince section). George Michael and Annie Lennox were there too, raving about Prince.

George spoke about loving Princes production, and how he wanted to try more "out there" stuff like Love Or Money.

I thought it was funny when George released "Hard Day" 10 months later, with his very own "Camille" voice.

By the way, 3 years later I bumped into Bill at an RSPB charity function, and he didn't remember who the fuck I was!

ah yes i remember jumping over my mom's coffee table to press record on the vcr when new prince videos would come on. i remember how excited i got when the new albums came out and collecting every magazine that had even the smallest pictures of prince in them. i also remember when my sister used to play tricks on me and scream prince is comming on tv hurry up, i'll run from my bedroom trip and fall and she would say ah man it's the gap band, im sorry i just love how excited you get when prince comes on tv.
i had it bad yall.

I used to buy every magazine I could get my hands on. I even had a scrapbook! Going into a store and inquiring about Prince stuff only to have the clerk ask "Who?" Staying up late to catch a television performance... Yeah, it was crazy!
