anybody noticed... prince uses a lyric book when he's playing live.
Is it because he get's old or has he got to many songs to remember? if you know the words to the song, sing along, if not you better ask somebody...

Hell, Sting used a lyric book back when I saw him tour for "Nothing Like The Sun"...Bowie uses a lyric book...it's not uncommon, and from what I've heard musicians say, they don't even use them that much - it's more of a safety/security thing.

I noticed this when he played in London, although he didn't seem to glance at it past the start of a song. Mainly he seemed to use it during the piano medley. At times he would idly leaf through it, then stop on a page and play whatever song he was on. Almost as if it was decided there and then and not in a rigid set list.
There didn't seem to be any music notation though, just lyrics. RIP

Whenever Prince was finished with the song, he would nod to his guitar technician. The technician would then come up and turn the page for him. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

One time I was at a show at Paisley and for whatever reason he couldn't read the book on the floor so he had a person next to me in the front row hold it up for him
That is when the Paisley shows used to be truly cool.

Oh wow! Too bad Prince didn't ask you to hold his book for him. That would truly be a great memory. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

Then you could turn the page to your favorite song. And leave it there all night. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.
