My take on SENDING stuff back

There have been alot of views and anger expressed by this subject and I just think people should look at it from both sides. YES i agree that PRINCE promises things and doesnt deliver (proposed projects), and he often says things the wrong way and pisses fans off, but he always has done this, I remember back in 1982 during an interview in sweden some of his comments were just so off the top of his head and without thought. But at the same time THIS EMAIL that was sent isnt really offensive, its a request, it doesnt say u are a theif if u buy this stuff and dont send it back, it doesnt say that u arent a fan if U own a bootleg. I have been into PRINCE since the beginning and have seen him LIVE 41 times, and yes I own alot of bootlegs, video and CD, including that CRAPPY copy of the SIGN O THE TIMES DVD which looks like shit. I do not consider myself stealing from PRINCE because I bought these things but if I turned around and sold them or used them for any kind of profit it would be theft on my part, and people have to accept that idea of it, once u make any form of profit off of someone else it is stealing case closed. I respect PRINCE in his fight for ownership, its funny because not ONE artist came to his side bck in 1993 when he started "bitchin" to WB about this stuff, but nowadays everyone is complaining about the industry and ownership. When people hear artists bitch about this they always say that artists are GREEDY, well i dont buy that, I dont think its about GREED, why should someone be able to make money off of you, why should a website be able to give away your music without you being informed or receiving revenue. I just wish there could be a middle ground, I mean you arent going to please everyone thats for sure but I do think the Fans should look at both sides of this. Prince has always been this way, and dont say he hasnt, he was always difficult and cryptic and promised albums and shelved them and said he was retiring and then touredand did more music in his "retirement". My two wishes are this 1. Prince would stop talking about upcoming projects and leaking info 2. The Fans would just realize that PRINCE is PRINCE, a difficult person just like he was in the 80's, he is the same person, deal with it, or dont, just dont try to say that he's different now.

you know, you're right. Prince has always been doing all things he's doing now. Preaching, cancelling, pissing off the fans, etc...so why all the hateration against him now? i mean, NEWS is just Madhouse for the 2000's.
1999 was ALL about saving your soul. get it?

but he still ain't gettin' me to send no cds to no place.

Well I have been sying this all along, people were bitching about PRINCE and his beliefs like it was something new, hasnt he always talked about GOD and things of that nature all through his career? Hey its cool if U dont send him back Bootlegs, Im not saying anyne should or shouldnt, Im just tired of people complaining about PRINCE like anything he is doing now he didnt do before. Sure he didnt ask for Bootlegs back in the 80's but maybe he should have, then all of this wouldnt exist today.

First off, I DONT own most of what he is seeking, especially the bootlegs, BUT if I WERE to send any, where would that leave MY collection, taking years & $$$ to build it? I can understand Prince's take on this issue, as its an issue that has been eating at him a VERY long time, and he keeps doing "ANYTHING" he can to reach his goal & prove his point! However, if he asked me face to face I probably couldnt refuse & would hand over "everything" to him. He might try that next...His looks & voice could get him "anywhere" with me...
May the BELLS ring 4 U even when ur not in love. hug kisses
