I hope this info helps:
'We Can Funk'#1 (5:25) from 'Dream Factory' era (1986) 'We Can Funk'#2 (5:43) from 'Dream Factory' era (1986) 'We Can Funk'#3 (5:50) from 'Dream Factory' era (1986) 'We Can Funk'#4 (5:51) from 'Graffiti Bridge' era ('89) 'We Can Funk'#5 (10:24)from 'Graffiti Bridge' era ('89) 'We Can Funk'#6 (6:45) from 'Graffiti Bridge' era ('89) 'We Can Funk'#7 (7:35) from 'Graffiti Bridge' era ('89) Versions 1,2 &3 can be found on both 'The Work'vol.2 and 'Dream Factory' (Thunderball version), plus on 'Testament'. Versions 4,5,6 &7 can also be found on the 'Testament' boot. Serious collectors might like to know that all circulating versions of 'We Can Funk'#5 (10:24) contain a few glitches, namely: momentary loss of sound at (2:36), a tiny edit at (5:26) and a small distortion at (6:32). Nothing too major, however. . "You don't frighten us, English pig dogs. Go and boil your bottoms, sons of a silly person."

I have to say I'm biased towards version #1 from '86.
Not only it is far more funky, rawer and sexier than the ones from '89, but like versions #2&3, it has a live vibe to it I have always enjoyed. Prince and The Revolution were on fire during '86 and no-one can top the recording sessions from around this period. As for the 'Grafitti Bridge' ones, the longest version is the one I go back to the most, given the fact that it features so many interesting changes, pretty much like version #1 of 'Soulpsychodelicide' from the same period. An interesting fact is that the 'GB' versions of 'We Can Funk' actually feature the basic track of the original recording from '82-'83, (which was titled 'We Can Fuck') instead of being complete reworkings of the original track. Before you ask, the original is not in circulation (yet). . "You don't frighten us, English pig dogs. Go and boil your bottoms, sons of a silly person."

It is very close to the version released on Graffiti Bridge, and no it isn't circulating. When i first heard "We Can FUNK" '86 version back in '88 off of a vinyl boot called 'Chocolate Box" I thought he was saying "We Can Fuck" that makes the song have such a cool edge.
