cue the music: Muse 2 The Pharaoh

Maybe y'all should just relax rather than lose yourself in what you're not expected to follow.

Anything with a WB logo that was UNOFFICIALLY released during Prince's tenure at that label.

I understand that Prince feels slighted, as he should, but what is to be gained from spending a lot of money to sue someone and the litigation will go on forever? Why now? Why are we as fans being told to let go of the past, getting criticized for liking Prince Classic, when he himself refuses to let go of it?

Um, yeah.

Mr. Man better take a good long look at those old CONtracts before going head to head with AOL Time Warner's finest legal eagles.

because he's a fucking JW, they are angry with everyone who's not JW! All those who are not JW are inferior in their eyes!

I remember history-class: in the thirties the nazi's came by all the houses to collect books which were written by authors that did not fit in the Nazi-ideology...and burned them...

So,are we to assume that Warners themselves released bootlegs? Don't they own the right to these recordings?

Hmmm, I would not go as far to compare JW's with Nazi-ideology and I wonder whether that is the reason for it, since prince has been fighting wars throughout his whole career. It seems to me he needs something to fight about constantly, as if it satisfies a necessary part of his persona !

The dude signed the contracts, as far as I can see by what knowledge we have - he has JACK to complain about.

Maybe he should concentrate on making some decent music rather than piddly and petty legalities that mean fuck all.

Prince signed a contract but clearly not concerning UNOFFICIAL products sold by WB. As such, there should be a legitimate case. Prince has just released his new album. At the very worst, this will make for good press.

It is no surprise that the statement from the NPGMC mentions Purple Rain.

"Imagine in 2004, a brand-new, prisitine, RE-mastered version of PURPLE RAIN released on high definition DVD with xtras, outtakes and liner notes from the Artist himself arriving at ur door."

MTV have reported this too. A settlement is in the works. Well done, Prince.

Warners have been accused of illegal activity. Prince has asked his music club for support. Most fans are outraged. Who appears to be the bad guy in this scenario? Warners, Prince or the fans? This is great publicity.
