EXACTLY what I thought about a few days ago:
WHY Prince didn't tour in east countries and Latin America, like other artists did and do ?
I think Prince is too much concentrated on musical creation. The reason must be he can't leave his studios for more than 17 days or soemthing like that =)

I don't think Prince is too "english speaking" people obsessed: remember he fell in love with France (Parade), Spain (Rave) and morocco (LoveSymbol and Rave).
Prince sold more records than Sting or Phil Collins, who did go to East countries, so WHY? That's not fair.
Prince really is too possessed with recording studios, and he said himself that he "would die if he don't work".

That's why he never "cool down" and release stupid material with a commercial nonsens. Now the mess about N.E.W.S seems to have broken the very good feelings about TRC and ONA. But three's still HOPE. N.E.W.S is about
NORTH
EAST
WEST
SOUTH
Just like ATWIAD in 1985, Prince uses exotic instruments and harmonies to express his vision of the world.
After a successfull tour in America and Europa, let's hope he will go deeper into his Santana (Latino) and Hendrix (Sherokee) influences and GO BACK TO HIS ROOTS.

And new directions in music also means a rythm change, musical EXPLORATION… like ambient music. But it's just one direction, Prince has taken many ones.
