Rave Un The Year 2000 I've been watching this a lot recently.
What does everyone think of it? I love the version of 'U got the look' and The Time's performance. But, there are some pieces of instrumental music that I don't recgonise. Does anyone know the long piece of music that follows 'Gett Off' which Maceo and Rosie perform on? (It segues into 'Talkin' loud and Sayin' Nothin') Also, who did the original of 'It's alright'? - Was it Sly? Plus, there is a guitar piece between 'Everyday people' and 'I want to take you higher' - is this original? ********************************************

the show is not bad but I wouldn't call it a masterpiece. The Larry Graham part annoys me beyond control.
But some parts are great to watch - the introduction part, the one with Lenny Kravitz, also the one with The Cross, Purple Rain, the blues number and Nothing Compares to you. it's a shame it's not in its entirety, but it's still over two hours! ______________

I've seen it once, when it first came out.
It didn't inspire me to watch it again. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

It didn't inspire me to watch it again. co-sign. This is the same as the pay-per-view special, right? I got it, watched it, enjoyed it, didn't feel impelled to pay for it again. The Normal Whores Club

The build-up/start of Kiss is my favourite bit on it.
Overall, I think it's not bad.

The bit after Gett Off is the housestyle remix that was on the maxi single.
I really love the bonus song 'Release Yourself' who was that originally by? The Hottest chip of them all - www.hotchip.co.uk - Get down with Prince

I think the instrumental you speak of is "Talking Loud and Saying Nothing" by James Brown (haven't seen it in a while) and "It's Alright" and "Release Yourself" are both originally by Graham Central Station.
BTW Argaze you realize the Blues Number is "Red House" (Purple House) by Jimi Hendrix right?

I just got the Rave DVD on Friday and I cannot stop watching it. I just like watching Prince play live.
I'm not a Larry Graham fan at all and I know people are tired of hearing it, but I really like Prince playing "Everyday People". I like the song. (I could do w/out Larry's long, lame ass intro, but I like the song) Matter of fact...I think I'mma watch it agin! I'm firmly planted in denial

My favorite part is in the interview section on the extras, where Prince is playing on guitar what became "Gamillah".
