What do you miss most about Prince? I know these types of topics have been done over and over! But I really miss "The Kid". I popped Sign O' The Times Live into the ol' VCR last night and just sat there in awe. For someone who's been by his side since 1981, the future is no longer bright...

I miss the Paisley shows. Not the ones circa 2000 where he was just going throught the motions but the shows where I would stay up all night and just get high on his brilliance.
I miss the feeling of walking out of PP with the sun rising and a smile on my face content in the fact that I had just witnessed something special and words would never be able to express what it had meant to me or how good it was. . I miss hearing a Prince song for the first time on radio. Back then, I usually learned of a new song when I heard it on radio. That was exciting.

I miss hearing the joy in his music. There's also the dancing. I don't expect him to dance for us like some little monkey but that was a part of his show that stood out, so it is missed.

Not sure if I actually miss anything, but if I had to pick it would be anxiously waiting for the release date of new music and going to the record store as soon as it opened to buy the latest release. The music club doesn't compare to this feeling.

I do miss the dancing at the gigs. Time gets us all though. Let's face it - Prince matures like any other human. He moves on in life. He is not 21 anymore - mentally or physically. Thus we will miss some of the splits, jumping off speakers and pianos, profanity,m the scantily clad babes, some of the sex, etc. However, the work is as good as its ever been. He is stretching out and reaching new levels that he could not have when he was younger and on top pf the charts. We have the time tested classics with the new inspired work of a wiser and more learned musical genius. The retrospective of his career is breathtaking - not just for longevity but for the consistent accomplishment and daring innovation.
My first inclination is not to use the word "miss". When you are young, you never think that you will get old. But if you are fortnate, that day will come. The grace and style with which you meet it makes the difference. From the modest beginnings of For You through the dazzling heights of Purple Rain to the mastery of The Rainbow Children, the ride has been like no other that I can recall. I dont look back with any despair - the best is today and it is only getting better.

I miss songs I actually care about, songs that I could relate too.
I also totally agree with LoveMachine, those were the days! MS

i miss when P would just scream at the top of his lungs bust a solo on the guitar & then jump over 2 the piano & ticle them keys & then he'd have every1 in unison scream with him & just jam a solo & every1 else has a solo & u know... the JB in P would b so evident...

Let's see...
1. The splits...or just his own funky style of dancing for that matter. 2. Sheila E. 3. Cat (or at least another female counterpart that can actually dance). 4. The long hair. 5. Hoop earring. 6. Wendy and Lisa (for some strange reason although they sounded a damn mess). 7. Dr. Fink 8. Boni Boyer (damn, I miss that voice. 9. Atlanta Bliss 10. Eric Leeds (I hear he's coming back though..but then again, was he ever away?) 11. Miko (SOTT period. He looked like a professional fairy biker during the Lovesexy period). 12. Sonny T. 13. Michael B. 14. Brown Mark. 15. Dez (glad to know he's playing for The Lord though, so I'm not mad at 'em). 16. Brooks. 17. Wally. 18. SOTT stage. 19. Double kickdrums and kazillion cymbals (not to mention the Linn Drums all together). 20. The original White Cloud guitar. That's all for now.

I lack the experience being around - mentally aware - in the eighties, to behold that vibe...
On the other hand, I would probably be to cool to admit that anything contemporary is that good.
