Crappy versions of p-music

I'm just interested in some quite funny Prince Covertunes.

I know some u maybe don't know (or maybe u do?)

As they r: Purple Rain by The Diesel Kings (Country version)
Purple Rain by Rumble on the beach (Punkversion
with a very trashy speed refrain)
Kiss by Max Raabe & sein Palastorchester (in a
Commedian Harmonist style, a bit dixieland-ish)

Got another cool versions??

Tom Jones - Kiss. Totally murdered that song.

It can be done well though - the Age of Chance version of Kiss kicks it.

I got this CD called 'Party of The Times'. With the Xception of Ice-T's take on 'Head' and some other guys' take on 'Irresistable Bitch' the rest of the covers R chuffin' diabolical. U should here Dead or Alive's (famous 4 U spin me right round) version of 'Pop Life' its, awful. Overblown, overproduced crap.

Back when I would see Prince and hear Prince in just about everything smile I remember a commercial for Perugina chocolates. The music had this syncopated rhythm very similar to "Let's Pretend We're Married." It was like someone was trying to jack the song without the consequences of copyright infringement.

"Alphabet St." war glaube ich nur 'ne B-Seite, ist aber auch zu finden auf dem "5 Jahre Zillo"-Jubiläumssampler von 1994. Laibach's "The Cross" ist auf dem Album "Jesus Christ Superstar" von 1996.

P.S. Sind wir die einzigen deutschen orger...??

Hey, danke.

Die einzigen sind wir nicht...der Rest ist schweigende Minderheit, vermute ich mal...

I agree... No one could slaughter 1999 like the man himself.

P.S.
IMO, Tina Turner's "Let's Pretend We're Married" was the best cover I've heard so far.
