'Wonderful Ass' by Prince / 'Mediate' by INXS

lyrics which have the same vibe begin @ 1:54.
words ending with '...ate' just like the lyrics in the INXS song.
Anji mentioned a link between these 2 songs but i never heard it in the music.
now i know where he was coming from...
the lyrics!

educate
tirate
???
communicate
litigate
large weight
seperate
interegate
violate
fluctuate
perfect trait
masturbate
simulate
stimulate
sintilate

a few Mr Hutchence left out, infact most of them.
very cool tho smile

could u see Prince holding up the cards with the words tho?
& throwing them away Bob Dylan style like MichaelHutchence did in the 'Mediate' video?
it would b kooky
smile

i dont think "Mediate" was a ripoff or even a tribute 2 Dylan.
but the video certainly was a tribute.

Yeah, Tears For Fears too, they were great! headbang

Tight band and funky tunes, man. Give me some Level 42 too, they were hot!

Yes, INXS. What a brilliant band they were. They really spoke to our hearts with their average playing and mediocre song-writing. Those dull and laboured songs really kicked my ass.

Right on. nod

Wonderful Ass was recorded before Mediate.

Now if Prince was to cover The Loved Ones...that would be great!

Oh come on. They're nothing special. Certainly, they're nowhere near as bad as Australia's other pop exports, but it's hardly riveting stuff is it?

I guess I'm being a little arsey, but mediocre bands with nothing to say seem to get my goat. I'd rather a band tried something and got it all wrong.

I've probably only heard 15 or so INXS tracks to be fair, but are u going to tell me that each album contains a whole heap of non-single gems just waiting to convert me?

They don't float my boat I guess. I'd liken them to lots of other lightweight 80s pop/rock bands that were ok but never did anything noteworthy musically.

Nickandmon, Tears for Fears were great, and they are coming back later this year!

As for INXS, they may not have made the greatest political statements in the world, but then again, does Beyonce.

INXS were (are) a great tight rock band. If you ever saw them in concert, you'd change your mind. smile

the video for Mediate was a direct rip-off of a video that Bob Dylan did for his Subterrenean Homesick Blues in the 60s. basically it was Dylan in some alleyway with the giant cards doing exactly the same thing that Hutchence ended up doing in Mediate.
that's it really.
