Freaks on this Side

I was digging the liove version of this tune from the Electric Factory boot of the 1998 Philly gig and thought, "Damn, this is funky as hell live!". Seems the critics were so sown on the NPS album that some of the subtle straight ahead funk grooves got overlooked. This is a monsterous groove with some funky ass horns.

The New Power Soul/Jam of the Year Tours were some of his most underated tours IMO. Just check out the Brixton & NYC gigs on video and you'll see what I mean.
