Miles Davis Biography fuck ups about Prince. Doesn't anyone do research anymore? There is this biography of Miles Davis that I am reading, the author's name is Ian Carr, the guy really boobs up on his Prince info. He says that Prince was born in Minneapolis WISCONSIN??  That his father John was half Italian,  and that on stage P wore black lace? underwear. He never had lacy underwear you fop.
But there is some funny stuff said by Miles about Prince: "Prince is like the church to gay guys."
"He's got that raunchy thing, almost like a pimp and a bitch all wrapped up in one image, that transvestite thing." Lastly, there is this idiotic comment about Miles by Stanley Crouch, a real hateful jazz critic and snob: "Beyond the terrible performances and terrible recordings, Davis has also become the most remarkable licker of moneyed boots in the music buisiness, willing to pimp himself as he once pimped woman when he was a drug addict. He can be seen on television talking about the greatness of Prince, or claiming that the Minneapolis vulgarian and borderline drag queen 'can be the new Duke Ellington of our time, if he just keeps at it'"    All you others say Hell Yea!!  | |

interesting quote to me simpy cos alot of people who insult NEWS compare how shit that (supposedly) is to people like miles davis who knew how to do jazz properly! everyone has their critics i guess! can anyone give me info on the jazz album miles and prince did? and surely prince would have learned how to do jazz properly then if he couldnt do it before?! | |
