I would have to go with controversy. I Shouldn't be saying this, because I made an agreement with Prince in writing not to. The reason I pick controvery is because I was a ghost co-producer of that album along with the first time album.

Controversy is the ultimate P album for me. Dirty Mind may be tighter and have more musical importance (one of the best albums of that era) but for me you really just can't get any better than Controversy.
Personally . I think we are all Boring with No Lives cause all we do is talk about Prince,Criticize and Gossip. I need a Horny Man is what I Need and probably so do most of yas. We are Sexually Frustrated what we R... Amen..!!! - zelaire

2 become one. Please no splitty. Unification is the inclination. The Berlin Wall split a city. Many cities are split right now.

"First we take Manhattan, then we take Berlin" (Cohen)

...til we have built...

'Dirty Mind' smile

In 1980,'Dirty Mind' was the most-talked about album in pop music. You didn't really hear too much of it on the radio (for obvious reasons),but there was a huge "buzz" surrounding this record. The music is edgy,punk-ish and totally "in your face".And this album contains a song which can truly be called a Prince classic---"When You Were Mine".

'Controversy' was a logical follow-up,but it's not nearly as provocative and consistent as 'DM'.

I loved Controversy before Dirty Mind, but I always seem to enjoy the raw feel of Dirty Mind, its a great moment, the album itself. I'll say Dirty Mind.
