"All My Dreams" depicts everything that's genius about Prince. This track is probably my favourite all time Prince song, and one of my all time favourite songs! What I would give to see it live!
This track has everything a Prince track should have! Sheer perfection!

It lacks the funk. | |

I agree matty, wholeheartedly - probably my favorite unreleased track
it may not funk, but it's grand and full of mystique and romantic gesture Prince didn't do it much better than that.

I love this too-it does get kinda funky when Wendy & Lisa start 'painting the side of the train' The Hottest chip of them all - www.hotchip.co.uk - Get down with Prince

The funk is in there, but not everything Prince does is funk - and I guess that's why we like him, huh, because he does lots, and does it well ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'm a sucker for a major chord

The music, especially in the beginning "I'll be there tonight...", always makes me feel like I'm a kid in the 40's or 50's at a big glamorous movie premiere. Like I'm...oh, Little Orphan Annie Anybody else get that vibe?
not many songs can make you feel like that - certainly not any of the crap you're hearing today

This track has everything a Prince track should have! Sheer perfection! Great Prince, Wendy and Lisa song indeed. Prince may be the purple Yoda, but Wendy & Lisa and Eric Leeds also sit on the Jedi Council.

ALL MY DREAMS
All my dreams All my dreams, all my dreams Ill see U 2night in all my dreams All my dreams My spirits in flight in all my dreams All my dreams A submarine valiantly conquers a virgin sea A child is born, a child is born, will U marry me? Ill teach U 2night (2night, 2night) in all my dreams All my dreams Ull be so surprised (surprised, surprised) at things Ull see All my dreams Africa, Capn Crunch, Norma Jean, Sex and Cheerios Play my record double speed, feel the climax fit 4 a king Just fun, nothing ethereal Here ye, here ye, one and all That the double speed playhouse is making a call Welcome, this is where I live This is where I dream my dreams 2night well make love until the world stops turning Ure small but very strong U move like a cat: quickly but gentle So insane He caressed her in her eyes/inner thighs and licked her abdomen She shivered with delight Over and over she nibbled his ear Ud think it was wrong 2 have so much fun He held her tightly until it almost hurt But his hips, they moved so slowly She wanted 2 stop breathing U can feel every curve of her womanhood U can see every thought in his brain A submarine slowly moves through the virgin sea Oh so slowly She wants 2 stop breathing U... U can feel every curve Lisa, Im gonna give U the brush and Ure gonna paint the side of the train She squeezes tighter as the submarine goes deeper in depth Into the unnavigated territory A smile, ever so slight, appears on his face as she starts 2 cry Until they come, 2gether, slowly They wish 4 somethin, as if they could see a parallel future in the sea They do not speak They only stare out the moment in time Marry me 2day and 2night well make love until the world stops turning (Im dreaming of a world) (Wherein there shines the sun) (Wherein there lay the stars) (Wherein there lie the stones) Gentle, but quickly Well travel 2night in all my dreams All my dreams All my dreams, all my dreams Goodness will guide us if love is inside us The colors are brighter, the bond is much tighter U know no childs a failure Until the blue sailboat sails him away from his dreams Dont ever lose, dont ever lose Dont ever lose your dreams Yeah! ===== SuckerPunch&ABowlOfChocolateCherries that's the groove. Those lyrics are the epitome of Prince for me. They do represent any and everything that made me become a fan of Prince's music. Plus the changes within the song and the way it always gets back to the initial lead-pattern, seemingly without a hint of trouble. effortlessly. As if he could do it again and again. The groaning voice, the trainstation noizes, the vocals of Wendy and Lisa [of whom I'm not usually an adept] & the piano. THE PIANO. ::swoon:: the piano. And then to top it all off, there's They wish 4 somethin, as if they could see a parallel future in the sea They do not speak They only stare out the moment in time... ... Urgh. I think I just creamed a brand new pair of boxers. What a rush. Yes, indeed, I love this song. I truly do. Coupled with "Old Friends 4 Sale", it could have lifted Parade to heights beyond comprehension. The album is already otherworldly as it is, but with the inclusion of those two songs, it would have been stellar. Listening to those two songs back 2 back, the way they were printed on the JewelBox outtakes set initially, it is a true shock to realise this material was deemed unfit for this, or any other album. Oh shit, include "Others Here With Us" remaster the lot, and release them on a special edition remastered Parade. I would listen to my speakers until the last note of his voice had lost it's resonance, until my ears were empty but for serotonine drops which danced, all around my head in frenzy, whispering his name with some curriculum of ancient science. Shooks. See, that's what Parade makes me do. It makes me go all potty. My heart sank to uncharted depts when I heard the narrator from this song tagged at the end of "Acknowledge Me" and I thought to myself "fucking hell, he's never gonna release it now". I've been a fan since 1982, and heard this song for the first time only this month. (THANKS2UKNOWWHOUARE!)
Incredible! Love it!!! I COMPLETELY agree with MattyJam, IstenSzek and BananaCologne. I must admit that my first listen made me a bit sad, thinking how far away the days of the that song are. http://elmadartista.tumblr.com/ http://twitter.com/madartista
