Prince's next fully fledged album will be the next 'Sign 'O' The Times'...

Boris, Isten, Rd, G, Moonie, Babynova, 2 & Nu feel me. Who else believes in the funk?

But believe me, this is that funk that I've been talking about. Prince has not lost it, y'all 'bout to be brought to the kind of level you never thought was possible, again. This time, it's succulent funk - you can almost chew it!

Oh my fucking god, check the groove 3 mins into track 3. This is Ballad meets Joy meets Housequake. This is some serious fucking funk! And it feels like it's just meant to be...DAMN!!

With NEWS there's defentially some defiant stirrings within the old bastard, that's for sure Anji. Whether the next release meets SOTT at the threshold of true genius is another matter however.
Everyone, even Bart, knows that true greatness is still lies inside the very fibre of the man...whether dormant or reactionary is anyone's guess.
As ever, I await patiently for all 6 and a half billion people on God's green Earth to humbly greet me with a limp handshake, offering the respite: "23, or thelastbunnyman as you are commonly known, you were right all along. Prince is the only musical artist worth listening to,despite the sins of some of his 90s releases."

They've been saying that since SOTT... and they've been wrong every time.
The expanded version of my book PRINCE and The Purple Rain Era Studio Sessions 1983-1984 was released in November 2018. (www.amazon.com/gp/product/1538114623/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_bibl_vppi_i0) or www.facebook.com/groups/1...104195943/

co-sign. I will say that Lovesexy blew me away and The Gold Experience was as close to greatness as he's come since Lovesexy. otherwise, Prince himself has invoked the S-word to generate buzz for a few of his prior recordings, and many of his listeners were let down consistently by those promises.

I can see your point. Purple Rain was the "big bang" in the 80s, and his follow up albums ATWIAD and Parade were not the critics favorites, but appealed more to the cult following. SOTT was his next album that many see as his best ever. Similarly, TRC was somewhat of a return to form for his studio albums, and was generally well recieved by critics and fans (the first time in a long time - even despite the religious undertones). Since then, Xpectation and NEWS have appealed mainly to the cult followers of Prince, and not the everyday people. And his next album...

Mr7

I think Anji is refering to Prince's next album after 'NEWS'. A 'fully fledged' album with vocals. Maybe it inclues the tracks premiered at the 'Front', one of which was entitled 'MUSICOLOGY'.

I've suspected for a long time that Prince's next studio album would be a major one creatively. He has left his vocals off the last 2 releases and has not released a new, studio album (with 'full-band') since 2001 to give this project extra credence and impact.

Anji has proved reliable in the past, so I see no reason to doubt him here. So Boris, Anji what is the tracklist ...?

If you look on NPGMC, the worshippers think NEWS is better than Sign of the times!

And they are crying out for an instrumental tour!
