I drank all Prince songs like a lush from For You to Batdance with no real qualms.

Then, the year was 1990 ... and I bought Graffiti Bridge. Had a hard time getting into the album. Can't STop the feeling I got, New Power Generation, and Release it, made the first 15 minutes hard to listen to. But I endured, not really admitting that I didn't like some songs.

When, Diamond and Pearls came out Thunder kicked my ass right away along with Cream. However, Daddy Pop and Jughead were the first songs i had to admit were shit.


Then, with every album thereafter, there were a few duds..

We March. Some enlightened soul gave me Purple Rain as a present one day, i totally digged it, so i picked up the than new Gold Xperience. Well, by comparison We March was a lowpoint. (i had a hard time getting in2 Dolphin btw, still kinda do).

slow love. It just gets on my nerves. I've gotten to the point where I can listen to it if I am doing something else but most of the time I just skip it.

Just didn't get it for the longest, then all of the sudden I had this epiphany, I was like, "this song is great!" ain't that weird? This is back in the days of actual vinyl records, mind you and it wasn't that easy to skip a song as it is with your cd button -- sort of had to endure the music, right? I still think Private Joy is cool now, it's one of my favorites off of the Controversy album.

A few off Graffiti Bridge: We Can Funk, The Latest Fashion, Graffiti Bridge and New Power Soul Pt II were just embarrassing. And the fact that B-Sides were replaced by remixes didn't help this period either. This period is where I feel that Prince started chasing what was "big" at the time instead of staying decades ahead of the rest. And when he started recycling his own stuff in a very "hey don't forget my hits" kind of way. My Name is Prince was also very below Prince standards but the standard just kept sinking from there. Thank God the Rainbow Children proved he could still be brilliant musically.

"Temptation".I remember buying the 'ATWIAD' album in spring '85 and trying my best to get enthusiastic about it.I was trying to FORCE myself to like these songs...lol...but in the end,I had to admit,I didn't really like it that much.

Uhmm, that's a tough one. Not because, there aren't any songs, but because, as time has gone on my feelings about certain songs have changed. But I will admit, that there hasn't been an album he has done that I haven't found at least one song I didn't like. And since the first album I ever heard was "Prince" the song would have to be "With You", of course now, it doesn't seem all that bad, but I know that's nostalga talking.

It has to be Ronnie Talk to Russia. Somebody said Life Can Be So Nice- no chance its top drawer. One that I hated at firs, but now really love is Joy in Repetition

in conclusion all artists have their STinkos...the longer
one records the more opportunities to make s***y records!

other all prince's batting average ain't that bad...
particularly when you think about how many tunes he's
recorded. and the fact a lot of his worthless songs
came in the 1990's.
before that the boy was almost batting 4oo!

oh well...(note to handclaps..there's about 8 songs i
dig from emancipation...but a lot of it...i can't play
now...so i think your opinion is close to the TRUTH!)

My first hated song was "U got the Look" always thought "Strange Relation" would have made a great single, but boy was I wrong. the U go the look video was great, especially the beginning, on top of that it spent 24 weeks on the Hot 100 (June 1987-DEC 31 1987)

Condition of the heart. I think the song is well written, but Prince ruined it with his vocal style.

The first song I head that sucked in EVERYWAY was Grafitti Bridge.

Delirious! ( cant listen 2 it through 2day!, however, Peach, Dolphin, Raspberry Beret, ( 3 other non fav's, I have grown 2 like...)

I hate that song. I even skip it when I'm watching the movie.
