Billy Sparks and 'First Avenue' Patrons

Did anybody trip off of how in 'Purple Rain' nobody was really 'into' Prince's music until the end when he did 'Purple Rain', 'I Would Die 4 U' and 'Baby I'm A Star'?

Consider the material they weren't diggin':

'Let's Go Crazy'
'The Beautiful Ones'
'Computer Blue'
'Darling Nikki'

I would have told Billy to kiss my ass and took my act to 'The Taste'.

I always used to think this too. I always wondered what was wrong with all the other songs featured first in the movie, and why the people weren't supposed to like him until those last two songs.

"I've told u before, you're not packing them in like you use to"

Should have kept that comment to himself and said it in the late '90s
