Was the typhoon ever cool? Quite a few threads about Diamonds & Pearls... reminded me of the D+P video that was released, and the Gett Off video with all the extended mixes etc...
Question: what on earth was he think with that "typhoon" do and old cleaning-lady style thing on his head? I'm also pretty sure there was a vid with him on roller skates, in shorts with braces on em, wearing sunglasses. Good god, it was tough being a Prince fan in 1992!  | |

Y'know, sometimes when you go to Prince concerts, you see some crazy hardcore fans trying to dress up like him. But when the D+P tour hit my neighbourhood in 92, no one, not even the hardcore fans, were dressed up.

First of all Prince looked GOOD in that swimsuit with suspenders. Just because most men could not wear that and look good in it,doesn't mean it didn't work for Prince.
The Typhoon hairstyle is a bit high maintenance and it looks good on a female with an angular face. | |

I like the TYPHOON. Would never try on me, but it catched. When I became a Prince fan i thought that he was the cool of the cools, with his thypoon, his mic gun, and his dirt mouth. Maybe the people from the 80's didnt like it. But i love the 90's. | |

I guess it was cool back when Little Richard was copying Esquerita, but considering Prince was trying to be all "Gangsta Glam" (what a retarded title, by the way - sounds like Lil' Bow Wow covering T.Rex) the look was just plain silly. The pompadour was okay, but those spitcurls...I don't know about all that mess... | |

It wasn't until I came to the Org that I knew the typhoon he was referring to in this line meant his hair do.
