Stop dividing your fans Prince

You are playing the game of "this or that" with them and you know it.

You discriminate between black and white folks, between colored and white folks, between religious and non religious folks, between JW's with "accurate knowledge of God and His law" and non JW's with unaccurate knowledge, between fams and fans, between Jews and African Americans, between Moors and white European "barbarians", who lived ages ago...

You act like you know it all, because you are so proud that you finally went to school, but... what did you do? You immediately accepted everything your teachers teach you as "truth" and not just that... You also seem convinced that you are qualified to preach this "truth". The truth is Prince, that you have only just begun to learn. The truth is that you are mad because of what happened to your ancestors on the hands of the "white man" and because the history of your ancestors and all other non-white people is largely ignored in American school history books. The truth is also that this white man is alkso mad because of that. i hate inaccurate "knowledge",bserved as "the truth". The truth is also that you do exactly the same as what you blame the white man for. Only telling one side of the story and leaving the rest, that might change people's perspective, out of it. The truth is that you are acting just as hypocritical as them. Stop playing "this or that" Prince. You will regret when you have finally come to grips with the full truth.

Stop dividing, stop charging overpriced fees for your "promised", "new" music. Not all can afford to "join"under your terms. You make yourself out to be a greedy man, who doesn't keep any promise, just as long as he gets "paid" for the "work" he has done. Lastly, stop infringing on the privacy rights of the ones who still love you so much that they want to join your "music" club. It makes you look like a hypocrite, when you do that and art the same time complain on and on about people "stealing" your "goods"... yeah that is what you yourself called your music...: "goods"... remember that? It is now becoming clear that your "music must be free" philosophy was nothing but a way to get your most loyal fans to back you in your rants about being a "slave". You are only a slave to your own misconceptions.

Yeah I said it and I will gladly admit it if I do the same. however, if "you said it" is all you can come up with, it won't make ME open my eyes.

How do those fans who attempt to correct/discredit
what he says while preaching their own truth
in place of that differ?
This post not for the wimp contingent. All whiny wusses avert your eyes.

Don't take his opinions of the "truth" so serious. He's entitled to what he believes in. For me I just enjoy the music and be threw with it. He or no other person can make me become a JW or anything else for that matter. I'm probably one of the most biggest famz out here, but I enjoy his music and just looking at his fine ass is enough for me, his opinions really don't matter that much. So chill and let's have fun. And this is my opinion!! LOL hug

Don't want to disrupt your witch hunt Abrazo but as NuPwrSoul correctly stated earlier Prince has created NO divisions amongst his fanbase.

He has only brought their biases and prejudices to the surface with an essay that attracted criticism...

but Essence, the REASON their biases - or rather individual perspectives - come into play at all is because of the subject matter prince introduces and, more importantly, the WAY in which he introduces it.

Well that as maybe, these "individual perspectives" existed before Prince delivered his words is the point.

obviously, they did. and prince's lyrics in the past used to embrace UNITY. now, his themes are increasingly DIVISIVE, which exacerbates, instead of helping, the situation.

Well he's not obligated to deliver any certain message, Prince in 2003 wants to tell us the history he is learning. Note, the historical fact he WANTS to tell...

i agree with the initial post. Can't really see how anybody could argue with that.

Prince was playing these little religious divisive games infront of Kevin Smith for the TRC documentary.

He's destroyed his own wonderful Lovesexy philosophy and a few people's faith in him and how he views other races. How sad sad

Abrazo, that was so true said!
Although, aren't u going a little bit to hard on Prince? He has done a lot of good things, he has helped people and donated to charity. I ain't saying that he's a good man because no one can say whether he's good or a hypocrate, as u call him.
Dear, I think it's fair enough that u blame him for being mad and for not being able to accept the neglection of his ancestors' history. But when is he dividing fans? It's not about his fans, I believe he couldn't care less which color, belief or nationality his fans have - as long as they appreciate what he's doing and they love him for who he is. smile
I would be mad too, and I am, for not being accepted for my nationality and belief, especially the last one. Those people who have suffered from unappreciation for who they are and for being divided because of their roots are very angry and confused people. They want justice, and so does Prince.
I have one question - U say Prince did go to school. What kind of school did he attend and when was that?
Many things are written in the history books that aren't all true. In fact, the most what is said isn't true! It's sad and unfair, but people who are smart enough not to believe all what they're being fed with will seek for the truth. They make their own opinions about the history, the races and what is right and wrong.
I wish Prince good luck with finding peace in his soul and keep on strugling for who he is.
And I wish u not to go so hard on this man. I guess you're a fan, so in that case u must understand. I'm sure that u've had some difficulties in life that made u angry and u felt unfair treated. Also good luck to u with finding the truth.

People, give both Prince and Abrazo a break!
They're both confused and angry, apperantly on two things, that at last turn out to be one and the same.

Blackcat

There's a psychological term used for this type of analogy. Something like uh...I read here on the org about how white gay men convince themselves they are paying blacks reparations by allowing black gay men to...you know. I see a connection here also.

If anybody's doing the dividing it's people like those who think Prince is racist for presenting an influential African culture to the NPGMC. disbelief

Honestly, based on his past jams, do you really and truely believe that Prince is a racist, and you come to this conclusion based on an incomplete song? How short is your thinking anyway? What about all the other jams? What? You just all of a sudden forget about them? Or is this just another shield to protect you from seeing inside your own self? The question is why? Why you think Prince is a racist? Don't look at Prince for the answer, look inside yourself. Examine your reasons for coming to this conclude and judgement about a man that is not you. Judge yourself, then come back and tell us what you found.

"If you don't give a heck about the man with the bible in his hand, just get out the way and let the gentleman do his thang...Respect yo self..." Mavis Staples and the Staple Singers.

I feel the first 2 paragraphs of your post completely.

The money tirade, however...I think Prince made a good move this year by offering club membership for a measly $25 and making NO PROMISES about new music or anything. Granted, other bands have websites that offer the same thing as the NPGMC for free. But that's other bands and this is Prince. Compared to last year, I think he moved in the right direction with this year's club.
