Our Destiny/Roadhouse Garden - INFO PLEASE! Only recently unearthed this little live jem, and Ive been playing it ova and ova, it's really special.
I dont know anything about it, but there seems 2 be some confusion with the few people Ive chatted 2 about it's title - whether it is called simply: 'Roadhouse Garden' or if the track I have is just a live jam of both songs segued 2gether. I have no idea where the song was recorded... (maybe Paisley/1st Avenue?) I have no idea when exactly this recording hails from... All I can tell u is that it is The Revolution - Wendy & Lisa can plainly be heard on background vox, and hazarding a guess, mine sounds as if it is possibly around 1985/86 era??? It lasts just under 9mins, and seems 2 segueway half-way thru with Prince and the girls riffing on 'Roadhouse Garden' over and over... All i know about this is that 'Roadhouse Garden' was the (supposed) 'new' Revolution album that never materialised, and that this song has very rarely been performed - anybody have any details of any other performances, history of the song, etc etc? (rabidly): ANYTHING! It's been an amazing thing this week 2 discover this piece of purple cool (u all know that feelin - so u know what Im talking about right now!) so ANY info on the above thread title will be most appreciated. COME ON guys, educate me on this one! BC x PS: ANYONE HAVE THE LYRICS 2 THIS?

Our destiny: Wendy and Lisa reworked the live recording from june 7 , 1984 at Sunset Sound over 3 days , september 27th to 29th 1984.
They composed a string portion 4 the song and conducted a 9 piece string section. Prince liked the string part so much that it was lifted and inserted as an interlude on Around the world in a day (between "pop life" aznd "the ladder").

I asked Wendy what the name for the song actually was and she said it was just Roadhouse Garden. Prince may be the purple Yoda, but Wendy & Lisa and Eric Leeds also sit on the Jedi Council.
