Just listening to this album today...DAMN is it funky...

I know that the first Time album was just Prince doing everything and Morris on lead vocals, but how much was Price involved with the Time's second and best album.

I know the musicians were good enough to play that stuff but it sure sounds like Prince mostly...As for an album that is funky through and through I dont think any thing beats this one.

The Time..the first one is his most funkiest album. Its deep funk, the bottom. What Time Is It si funky as well dont get me wriong, but it is lighter. The Time is more thick funk. Get It Up is the funkiest song he has ever done.
Cool comes second, 777 third and The Stick 4th.

It's a toss up. 777-9311 is just HARD to the WALL... ain't nothing on The TIME like that. Get It Up was good, and COOL was great too, but, 777-9311 is just BOOO-YAAA.

Yes, sure, Get It Up is funky...but I'm sayin' for the WHOLE album...I still think with Wild and Loose, 777-9311, The Walk, Onedayimgonnabsomebody, etc. "What Time Is It" has it beat.

The Time just has Get it Up, The Stick and Cool, all great but only Get It Up holds its own with What Time Is It's trax. IMHO.

Anyway I put that on yesterday and danced for a long ass time.
