Who likes 'Peach'? I really love it! I've got this riff in my head, I just can't stop singing it at the moment.I think it's really underrated amongst Prince fans.

I love "Peach". If only the o(+> album would have had a bit
more of a punch to it with more songs like this, I might listen to it once in a while. Though the studioversion is cool, Peach always seems to become much more momentous when it's played live. Live it kicks some serious butt. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps | |

I dont like the album version cause he sings an octave lower than on live performances. IT doesn't work without the screaming singing IMO. |

When it first came out, I HATED IT!

I loved it from the first time I heard it.
When Prince came to Houston last year, I was hoping he'd invite people to jam with him, and I practiced "Peach" for a couple weeks. I changed the lyrics some, substituting "pigtails" for "titties", and re-wrote the last verse to be an homage to my wife. Alas, a nice girl filled up almost the whole pre-concert time with Prince telling him about her purple curse, and I never got my chance. I probably would have sucked, anyway...  | |

Peach is perfect. Its a classic rock riff. Sounds like ZZ Top could have done this song. And the lyrics? Shit. Perfectly dirty. And the crunge of it all. This is a spring-summer ride with the top down car song. (Eat a) Peach appreciation. "Climb in my fur." | |

T'sacrifice of victor' video holds the greatest rendition of this track. The extended jam at the end when p just keeps playing as the band stops. Then smashing that cloud into the stage as if it is'nt even worthy of being played by him. You do as I say | |

The Wembley Stadium live version is fackin' hot as well. I was there when he did that sacrifice of victor version. The Come, Endorphinmachine, Peach trio that night was very nice indeed, thankyou. Damn I wish I still had the tape of that performance. | |

I seem to be the only one in this thread not liking the song that much.
About the studio version: Its arrangements and the low voice make it a rather bland show. He actually sounds like he's having a cold or a throat issue. I've always felt that he never got to the rocker he wants to be. Bambi and When you were mine are very, very close, but Peach is not amongst those ranks in rocksongs. His guitar tones are almost a humorous statement against southern rock 
Of course the live versions do the song justice, mostly because of the vocals, but in concert things also become a bit funkier. And he plays so loud you get rocked automatically. | |
