Me. Good question. I know the linear notes of the commercial "Crystal Ball" album says "Boni's voice taken from "The Line" to be released at a later date" or something to that effect. My whole thing is RELEASE IT DAMN IT! This song is one of Prince's/Boni's best! I wonder if he has anymore tracks like that with Boni?

I've never heard it... I only recall him saying it during the LOVESEXY concert vid... “A poor man waited a thousand years before the gate of paradise. And, while he snatched a little sleep, it opened and shut.”

Great, great track - One of Prince last truly great songs before it all went a bit pear shaped (IMO).
There was a bit about it in Possessed that I didn't know before, and it kinda filled in the gap for why it was taken of Lovesexy, which I always thought was odd since it such a great track. Any way, the book said something about the reception to the track by ___ (someone who remembers please fill in the blank), was that they were a bit underwhelmed, even though Prince really thought he had something special. He should have gone with his instinct on that one

Anyway, I would love to hear more songs he may have written featuring Boni.

While I don't think it would have fit well on Lovesexy, this is a great song -- the opening keyboards were absolutely wonderful. Boni was an awesome talent. Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου
μηδὲν ὅλως σὺ λυποῦ πρὸς ὀλίγον ἐστὶ τὸ ζῆν τὸ τέλος ὁ χρόνος ἀπαιτεῖ.”

I agree - I can't imagine this track on 'Lovesexy' but I love this song
It's very sparse but has a real otherworldly, mysterious vibe. I can't believe Prince sings 'Kangaroo - do the do!', though

After reading this post i decided to track down this song and finally have a listen...
FUNK ME!!! God this song is great...way too damn funky - that bass line, those lush synth chords used during the Lovesexy Live intermissions, Boni's voice, the great lyrics, the pulsating drum line. Damn this song needs to be done again by someone, anyone... I love finding Prince gems like this...just keeps me interested If you're like me and haven't bothered tracking down this song...DO IT NOW! I sincerely want 2 fuck the taste out of your mouth

I think the song would've fit perfectly on Lovesexy. For instance. Prince could've started the whole "hidden track" revolution and waited about 2 minutes after "Positivity" to go into "The Line"
