cool list, made me revisit some. I was surprised "The Stick" wasn't on there, since there were so many protege songs.

Really amazing and comprehensive list.
I'd love to know the circumstances that led to him hearing the When Doves Cry original!

Cool list
Cloreen that high though? Lol
LRC deserves to be at number one but it should be a tie for the album version and the dance remix.

My one gripe is when he said about "It's Gonna Be A Beautiful Night":
"The idea is kind of genius: he opened his show with this instrumental jam, adding the Winkie chant from The Wizard of Oz (“…all we owe, we owe her,” or “Oh-We-Oh-We-Oh-Ah”), and gradually added lyrics over the backdrop."
This song was *not* that show's opener (8/25/86 in Paris).

One can tell by reading Questlove’s comments he is a major diehard of Prince and that the Revolution era is his favorite. There is no hiding his preference. Very scholarly in his comments. In my opinion, I think he loves the fact that he has access to so many rehearsals and after shows and concerts that most don’t. A well put together list but there is Prince snobb that comes thru.
With that being said i appreciate his fandom of Prince.

A nice list for those who think Prince is no longer interesting after '80. I think the most recent song he chose is from The Truth, 1997.

It is not my list, I love *a lot* of music released during and after '90

I love that this lists takes people straight to the video... so far.

And it's great that Questlove has included thoughtful notes as to why he included each song on "The Prince 100".

Having said that... Alphabet Street at 100? 17 Days at 78? (I am already giving this list serious side eye! lol... and I'm just getting started)

This is the kind of tribute I like!
