. Isn't it beyond sad that this 10th anniversary is overshadowed by this nonsense? And fans predicted this when Londell came to be in charge! Great job they're doing with Prince's legacy.

"There are plans for a deluxe edition 40th anniversary release of the celebrated Prince & the Revolution cult favorite Parade soundtrack from the 1986 film Under The Cherry Moon, set for next year" . Uh, next year? Yeah, apparently it takes them YEARS to compile a bunch of songs that have already been recorded decades ago,lol

He also did this at last years Vault panel and during some recent interviews.

. Ah but you see, it has to be presented at the perfect moment. . These clowns didn't have a release ready for when the vault was free, and seemingly best we can get this year is a bunch of singles that will get compiled into an album (buy the same shit twice, kids!), so max a dozen unreleased tracks. And perhaps some deluxe releases (i.e. no new music). . But they're too busy with their "real jobs", and managing the estate (a job they chose to do, against the wishes of fans who knew these clowns would bungle it) is just too much effort. But I bet they can manage to cash their paycheck each month.

As infuriating as it is to have to deal with these idiots, it's kind of nice that our mutual contempt for Spicer and McMillan is like the ONE thing that has ever united the Org.

. TBH I wouldn't spit on the only decent project that might actually see the light of day. I'd rather have a series of Vaults than some expensive SDE where I only care about the vault songs.

Uh, next year? They don’t have an archivist at the moment. They fired 2 and haven’t employed another. They have lists of tracks to include probably, from Duane and Michael, but someone’s got to find it all and get it all remastered. Good luck! 😫

. No it wasn't. It takes a long time to write such books, and especially since the years he is now writing about have less documented studio work (no studio records from PP,...). First book was published in 2017, second in 2021, so he isn't taking that much longer.

My understanding is that he's still at it. Be patient A COMPREHENSIVE PRINCE DISCOGRAPHY (work in progress ^^): https://sites.google.com/...scography/

Because of the success and positive responses he must have thought of the next era to document in detail and as Bizzie says, a lot less to go on, so more starting from scratch. Plus, I think he’s got other work ongoing at the moment after stopping work with Paisley - think he mentioned a non-Prince documentary he’s putting together taking priority. Well just have to be patient and help when he asks. There may or may not be something coming!

. The FB group is kinda dead because nothing is happening (as in: there aren't relevant articles in magazines etc.). Doesn't help that the few times something is happening then nobody seems to be around to approve a post. . It is ridiculous how the estate is failing to "keep Prince alive". Just release an unreleased track each month, even if it's a random thing and not part of an upcoming release and have a story to go with it. Now it has been months since Prince was last featured in magazines like Mojo or Uncut, except as a reference point in a review or as a mention by another artist. . [Edited 5/21/26 20:05pm]

At this point I don't really care anymore. I come on here from time to time to see if there is any news, and there usually isn't. At this point, I just enjoy all of his music and shows I already have and leave it at that. They seriously couldn't f his legacy up more than they already have.

Lately I've been recommended (by YouTube) shorts that are excerpts from the One Song podcast, in which they strip apart songs from the multitracks and tell stories, often with some of the musicians also commenting, e.g. https://www.youtube.com/s...cpPh2ztjYU . . The estate should do that with legendary tracks and haven people who were involved in the recording comment on them, or even band members who might not be on the track but were around and can provide insight. Just give us snippets of isolated vocals or drums etc., and perhaps even unused bits from the multitrack. . Instead they do nothing.

I fully agree. "The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves. And wiser people so full of doubts." (Bertrand Russell 1872-1972)

Just read about the upcoming Blu-ray Audio release of Tina Turner's Private Dancer. https://superdeluxeeditio...e-blu-ray/ . It has SEVEN different audio streams. TWENTY-FIVE stereo bonus tracks. And SEVEN promo videos. . Now compare to the Purple Rain Blu-ray audio which only has the Dolby Atmos mix and a HiRes encode of the original mix. . Why can't we have nice things like that? Why is it always minimum effort? Why am I supposed to believe that this would be too expensive to do?
