Xtraloveable. The version from Hit'n'Run Phase Two. If someone like Bruno Mars released that exact same song it would have been huge.

Very good call. And there's a cool music video.

Very good call. And there's a cool music video. Was that the last known Prince music video? Obviously not counting the ones that were made without his participation after he died. With the recent releases of the Hit'n'Run albums on vinyl I think it would have been cool for the Prince Estate to put out a 4k version of that video on YouTube. With a lot of new fans gained over the last month or so it might have helped promote newer Prince music to those fans who have only now gotten into his stuff and may only know the Purple Rain songs.

The Gold Standard. I'm not sure about that one. It sounds a bit too "high school musical" to me. But I'm sure there's an audience for that kind of thing so maybe.

Love Sign Always thought it would've been a hit back in the day as well on the back of TMBGIW, if WB didn’t block it. It was getting some attention with the message, the Ice Cube video and Marvin Gaye’s daughter.

Revelation. The last of Prince’s soulful, seductive ballads. Never understood why the estate never put this out after his death or submitted it for a Grammy….oh wait, it’s the estate… that’s why.

One of the best songs the man ever put to tape...I don't know that it'd be a 'hit', though. Just for the sake of the topic, I'll suggest sticky like glue. It bops, right? Anyhow, if any song was going to be a hit, wouldn't it have been a hit already? Prince wasn't selling tapes out the trunk of his car...

Those last few albums got very little promotion at all and sold accordingly. Phase Two was his best album in 20 years but that counts for nothing when nobody knows it exists.

Honestly, many of Prince's song could be hits. 75% of a "hit" song is marketing. I mean, look what happened with the Stranger Things tie in. "New Power slide...."

You only have to look at the current top 10 to see that anything can be a hit with the right promotion. After all, Bob The Builder was once number one

As I have no idea (at all) about what today's hits sound like, I don't know. With a few rare exceptions, most of the current acts I listen to are rather niche (or so I suppose). But unless popular sounds became totally retro in 2026, probably no Prince song at all unless it's massively remixed by some young producer to the point of being barely recognizable as a Prince song. + IDK, except for Bob Marley with Ion Lion Zion, has any song by a long dead artist ever topped the charts? 319, Peach.

Peach already reached #14 in the UK on release and was a top 10 hit in many countries across Europe.

I always thought Last Heart had single potential. You could probably pump up the production a bit for modern ears.

Like the Whitney Houston, Tina Turner and Donna Summer remixes, it probably needs to be one of the already quite well-known hits. So maybe Kiss, maybe Cream, maybe I Feel For You in an EDM-type remix by Kygo or something similar.
All his "orignal" songs probably sound too dated for today's top 40 radion rotation...

I'd co-sign
Xtraloveable Lovesign (though the production may need an update from that flat 90s sound) She's always in my hair always sounded like an indie song to me, there's a great cover of the updated version (with the synths) he took to playing live in the twenty-teens. Question of U, Joy in repetition. I think Fascination has legs. Other side of the pillow has a timelessness to it. But I'd concede it doesn't scream pop-hit. Look at me, Look at u, Time, Rock and Roll love affair, & Wasted Kisses, are contenders. ComeOn deserved more too. It was a pretty big flop when it was released but I think Prince is held in higher regard now. Moreso than the 90s. ComeOn is accessible pop. [Edited 3/4/26 15:11pm]
