It wasn’t really Netflix holding them back in the end. That was a nice excuse to do nothing though!

Remember this when they start pushing the tickets for the next celebration at PP.

Let them bleed this time...

The SDE's don't make their money back, it's all the other shit they do that makes them money...

They don't have to release them to make a shitload of money because blind "Fams" buy anything (apparel, bedsheets,
shitty mugs, tacky jewelry, cheaply manufactured vinyls etc...) that make them money...

Royalties and licensing agreements are enough to keep the boat floating...
Wether you believe it or not (I had to do some double takes...) their goal is to expand the fanbase with new fans because only the dying
ol' skoolers are buying the SDE's... Once the younger fans get bitten by the bug then the SDE's will become a lucrative endeavour...
I just fail to see any newer fans buying any physical product because they just don't have any money and streaming is practically "free"...

Wow...a year ago and all we've got is ATWIAD Deluxe and the vinyl release of HnR Phase 1 and 2. NOTHING from the vault on either!! They sure know how to treat their customer base.

That sums it up... I don't see what the Estate could offer us, apart from a major leak and continued release of unseen material by anonymous sources. We understand their credo very well, and broadly speaking, nothing should change except, as someone rightly pointed out, the possibility of the Vault being sold to a third party?

Oh, and technically SOTT live:

https://princevault.com/i...rdam_1987)

(the mix itself was previously unreleased)

.

IMHO SOTT Live is significantly different, it's doesn't have various overdubs (e.g. it has Prince shouting "Holland" at the start instead of "Uptown"). Plus it's not like the movie's audio is available as mere audio.

.

But yeah, it's a far cry from something that is truly unreleased.
