I dunno, I've rethought this...Minneapolis always got first, more and frequent access to prince. Why shouldn't they get an exclusive screening of something? Also, according to discussion on this forum, the estate announced the near future release of several projects at the most recent celebration. Projects including around the world in a day deluxe edition, which they've made good on. Also announced was a parade sde...soooo...I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt on this one...

Not releasing a Parade SDE would be a huge mistake since it would likely sell as well as the SOTT set did.

I believe that the estate should start to think about using a UK or European branch of Musictoday to handle some of its sales and merchandisefor the rest of the world. I know that a majority of Americans voted for the current president, but there are lots of people from other countries who are Prince fans and who don't want to be subject to exorbitant costs and tariffs.

Also, without being too dramatic about it, many people do not wish to travel to the United States and have their phones checked at the airport, or be detained. Our governments are even issuing travel advisories to that effect. So Minneapolis only events should be considered with that in mind, people who previously attended Celebration that I know are now not going.

They never announced a Parade SDE, though.

Here's a quote (?) from someone at the Celebration:

"Next year is 2026 so everyone is going to see something from Parade." (McMillan)

Interpret that as you want. What is "something from Parade"? A remastered/expanded edition like ATWIAD? Nobody actually knows.

Why on earth would this not be part of the upcomogn release? Instantly gives it much more value.

because that would make the set to expensive for the poorer fans or the younger fans with no money or something.

They always release different editions, with varying numbers of discs, so that can't be the reason.

true, but manufacturing costs for that are high and teh SDEs didn't sell as well as they hoped, so smaller releases are cheaper to manufacture and easier to sell.
So splitting up a SDE into 3 parts to release may be cheaper to manufacture and make more when they sell them like that instewad of $300 sets and keep the attention to it longer.

It's the best way to release the SDEs. Some of us are only interested in the vault tracks and shouldn’t be forced to buy an entire set with a book, single edits, etc.

Just announced - ATWIAD release party for a special screening at the Paisley Park soundstage.

FROM THE VAULT - CONCERT SCREENING "PRINCE - LIVE AT FIRST AVE - 1986"

REMIXED & REMASTERED IN 4K

2-Hour Concert...

I am bored to death by these special Paisley Park events only visitable for a few (US) fans... remixed & remastered? then release it for EVERYBODY. Every format. DVD, Blue Ray, Vod, CD, Vinyl, Streaming... what's so difficult about it smile

They propbably might do that?

... considdering it's a money making idea to split up everything from a SDE,

and release it over some time period, one by one.

Can be, though i'm no visionary.

But the 2MG (two money-grabbers) in PP might think like this.

WHo the fuck knows, why else restore soemthing in 4K?!

No logical sense than the idea to release it lateron, according to my humble greedy evil mind.

Didn't they show this at The Celebration this year? Or clips from it? Or maybe I imagined it. biggrin

.

Fingers crossed this will be included in the Parade SDE. If that even happens!

If we get anything Parade-related at all, it will be the absolute bare minimum. As has been the case with everything Londell and Charles have done since taking over. Anyone expecting more at this point is just deluding themselves.

I have a strong feeling that all these concerts were remastered as part of supplying footage for the Netflix doc, with no other plan for how/when to release them.

Because most of the vault content is being held hostage for Cellies, Paisley events and tours.

You might be onto something. I wish I could believe that screening a concert from 1986 has something to do with a Parade SDE next year, but your hypothesis is more likely.

First Avenue 1986 has 5 songs from ATWIAD. Nice 1985 only has 2. They needed something for their ATWIAD release party, so they just went with whatever they had handy.

I went to the event. It started off with the screening of the First Avenue show in the Soundstage. Looks and sounds great! Then dance party in the NPGMC room. They didnt have much of the ATWIAD merchandise for sale.

Anyone order the picture disc off prince.com? Wondering if the flip side has ATWIAD logo?

Really hope it's true even if I was already convinced.
I love the "Parade" era (my first concert).

Yes, full show. Multi-cam. I thought it was much better, video quality-wise, than the footage they showed at the Gold Experience party a couple of months ago. AnotherLover was excited
