As long as they don't do another outtake collection like Crystal Ball 98 with all eras colliding with each other that make for a bad listen, them I'm happy.
Lol.....what ever u say. Graycap23 was ME!

Joris is just expressing his preference for a cohesive outtakes collection. That's all.

Maybe, if folks keep on expressing their frustration with this set and sales reflect so, they throw in a DVD next time. But wouldn't be surprised if Parade gets the same treatment as ATWIAD next year - remastered album and edits and extended versions of the singles (in fact that could be a very neat 2LP or 2CD set). I wish I'd be more optimistic, but I just can't see them putting together a SDE like SOTT anymore. . I don’t know the numbers (maybe they’re publicly available somewhere), but I’d hazard a guess that D&P SDE sold considerably less than SOTT SDE, and it’s led to the Estate getting cold feet about SDEs again. So, I don’t think that not buying stuff will help us get bigger and better releases. Prince needs the simple expanded releases as a minimum to support his legacy and catalogue. But let’s hope there’s more releases too!!

Article on ATWIAD in November 2025 issue of UK music monthly Classic Pop says it was Prince's idea for the image of the boy with the balloon. Basically his compromise to his demand of the cover of the album having no text, which would have been a promotional nightmare. . Article has new quotes from Susan Rogers and Laura LiPuma. (Though not really any new info.) . The magazine also reviews the reissue (4.5/5 stars), and John McKie's recent book about Prince . [Edited 10/14/25 8:37am]

The upcoming issue of UK music monthly Mojo (December 2025 issue) also has an article on ATWIAD, but the magazine isn't out yet. I expect it to be out in a couple of days.

Thank you Bart.

Surely the release pattern should be three versions for each album:
1. Remastered album 2. Deluxe version with above and b-sides, extended mixes 3. Super Deluxe with above and vault tracks 'I loved him then, I love him now and will love him eternally. He's with our son now.' Mayte 21st April 2016 = the saddest quote I have ever read! RIP Prince and thanks for everything.

The December 2025 issue of UK music monthly Mojo has a six page article about Around The World In A Day. . Based on new interviews with Brownmark, Dr. Fink, Bobby Z., Susan Rogers, Wendy Melvoin, Lisa Coleman, Doug Henders, and Laura LiPuma.

In a way, I found Crystal Ball to be more cohesive than the tracks on the Super Deluxe editions. It flowed like an album. I was a relative newbie when it was released, and I had less knowledge of when the music had been made, which was likely an advantage. And Prince would pull tracks out of the vault from different eras for new albums himself.
Crystal Ball was something I can isten to like an album, outtakes discs I pick tracks from.
