Unless maybe it was written from Prince's high school memories' perspective, Peach is clearly a work of fiction. It's a little annoying how people tend to think each and everyone of his songs features Prince as their lead character. Because of this nonsense, we may never get any of the 2 songs containing the "r" word.

And I don't think "little man" is meant pejoratively.

Just because a girl is featured in a MV doesn't mean the song was writter for her. And Prince was courting/dating a lot of women at the time... This theory could make sense, however, except for the last part:

This kinda girl's always out of reach

This whole paragraph seems absurd in the context of Prince and Mayte. Well, TBH, in the context of Prince period. I don't think that in 1992, he felt he was "last" on anyone's "list", that any woman thought he was "uncool" or "ugly", or that any "kind" of woman felt "out of reach" for him.

It's most likely a work of fiction.
