Morris, Jesse AND Jerome in the same building at Celebration but no cigar Wasnt there...but when I heard that Morris Day and "The Time", Jesse Johnson AND Jerome Benton were in the same building but all under different billings (Jesse solo, Jerome for The Family reunion). The fact that they even got Jesse to come out was a miracle, let alone to Paisley Park. Jellybean played guitar for the family (Kirk was drummer)...but Jellybean came out to play drum for one song with Morris.
Based on a friend who was VIP who knows some PP employees...she heard that Jesse and Jerome were willing to be on stage with Morris, but Morris said no. She was upset (as were many others) that fake-Jerome was on stage dancing, while the real one was stone's throw away probably not watching. Even St. Paul could've been used and he had just performed with the full Family.
Whether or not that is true, it is a wasted opportunity. Sly just passed away today...I hope they resolve all their differences. "You know, this is funky but I wish he'd play like he used to, old scragglyhead son of a...*smack* OOH!"

There's a lot of water under the bridge since the time those folks lives' intersected under Prince. It's nice to hear that they can come out to entertain at the Celebration events and that's the best anyone can hope to see IMO. God bless each of those old Princeworld veterans.

What's everyone always fussing with each other for??? Every day when I awake, the greatest of joys is mine: that of being ME.

The troops fight, and fight more with no General around. Even from the beyond, Prince's grip remains.

Maybe people are disturbed over who is getting paid for these events and how much? Looking past those sentimental memories, it's not to far gone to realize that this all's still a bIZ-ness!

From what was said....the music was good, especially Jesse. He was cracking jokes with the audience alot. I think the elephant in the room took over. Cause there were five members of the Time (counting St. Paul) in the building but under separate bills. It was hard to enjoy. I was there. . . I believe Jellybean played the whole Time set.... at least the first couple songs.... then I was focused on Morris so wasn't looking in the back. He definitely hits HARD! . . Paul came out during one song during the Time and was dancing a little bit on stage but not playing (I don't remember which right now). . . I was very excited to see Jesse whom I'd never seen live before. Unfortunately, it was just him, Gerry Hubbard on bass (I believe) and I don't remember the drummer. No keyboards, so he was using backing tracks of some sort for all the keys/synths and some of the songs that had drum machine (the drummer had headphones on).

I did think it was weird that Jerome didn't join Morris for the Time set.
