I saw this here too in the US… And I am dumbfounded. This is what the estate releases? Don’t we already have this both unbelievable and completely believable at the same time

I'm actually surprised it's not yet another coloured vinyl reissue of Prince & The Revolution Live!

Better than nothing but clearly shows to me that there are legal wrangles still going on.

Edit: From USA RSD site - https://recordstoreday.co...ease/18512

“Broken out from the Grammy-nominated Diamonds And Pearls Super Deluxe Edition as a stand-alone piece for the first time as a Record Store Day exclusive, this 3xLP set comprises a complete concert performance from Prince & The NPG, previewing the Diamonds And Pearls Tour at Prince’s small Minneapolis club, Glam Slam, in January 1992.
Mixed from the 24-track master, the performance clocks in at just over 100 minutes of sweaty, groove-laden brilliance led by the one and only Prince, capturing the sheer joy and sense of endless possibility that came to define this era.
Housed in a gorgeous triple gatefold, the three LPs on yellow 140g vinyl contain five sides of music and an etching of the cover of Diamonds And Pearls on side 6.”

Thank god there’s an etching on side 6 - my favourite thing about the vinyl revival! Those 150 or so who wanted it won’t miss out as 4000 of them are being made.

If I remember correctly, some people wanted this to be released separately cuz they refused to buy the box set.

figures. the 150 people who complained about this not being for sale on it's own is the ones they listen to.

the 10.000 people screaming for literally anything else, they ignore.

Bowie's vault being much thinner than Prince's, it's remarkable how they manage to do MORE with LESS.

If any Prince lyrics was to become the Estate's official motto, it should be "everybody wants to sell what's alrealdy been sold".

I don’t think this is really a release for us.
We have the CD and the BluRay.
It’s for the more casual fans who buy a few vinyls on record store day, and will love to hear this.

This is standard industry rsd stuff. Just releasing something already out there but in nice new packaging snd separated from a bigger release. Labels love doing this stuff for rsd

If the point is to release something already released, then They could completely release the Camille album, since every tracks were released ( and available on Spotify I presume)

Yep. I gave up waiting and recently bought the LP box in a discount to get that blu-ray and resold the vinyls and book.

Not the route I really wanted to take due to the extra hassle to get this.

---

The separate release of the 3 LP's now is a nice approach to provide Prince's live work without resorting to big bloated boxes for a niche market.
