So, how about a spike lee documentary? I mean,really, from the get go he was the obvious man to take the job.
Now that the whole thing backfired, do you think he can be recruited to do a proper documentary project, one that focuses on the music and not the girlfriends? Is / was there any discussion about this? I would trust him much more than i trust the people involved with the current doc. [Edited 9/11/24 3:10am] |

Nah, McMillions will deny access to the Vault and will have final approval.
So no respected filmmaker will touch this.
McMillions should film his own doc and shop it around to all the Networks.

Imho after the Netflix debacle, no serious documentarian would go near Prince as a topic. The estate wants a puff piece, not a documentary. |

Spike Lee and Prince were friends right? It's probably not a good idea for a documentary to be produced by his friend because you know you're not going to get the full story. Surely the best thing to do would be to find someone who has very little knowledge of Prince so that they can tell the story with no preconceived notions and just be completely and utterly unbiased. Having said that, I have no interest in this documentary or any other documentary about Prince. Just wanted to throw my two cents in there for what it's worth  | |
