^^Soul...I agree with you. It was very entertaining. Neilsen ratings said the viewership for the shows were the highest that had been seen in years. Anyone know who the lead guitarist was? I thought it was H.E.R at first.

I don't think that a few people complaing on the Org will prevent musicians from covering Prince's music.

Also: even if nobody covers Prince anymore, Prince's music will still exist and it will still be heard by millions of people. Well, at least a couple of songs, anyway.

You're right: this definitely was not for us hardcore fans. The more I think about it, the more I don't know what they could have played in that specific context. I guess I'm just sick and tired of "Purple Rain".

Me too. I've never watched any convention as much as I watched this one. I usually catch a couple speeches that are usually disappointing (Michelle and Barack being the exceptions). The music just complimented the uplifting speeches throughout. I wasnt a big fan of John Legend...but still glad he and Sheila were there representing my fave artist. It is a wonder tho if Prince would've been there. If he was still a practicing JW I am guessing no.

Michelle's speech was my favorite on Thursday night,TMZ mistakenly reported that Beyonce would be there....lol...I enjoyed Pink's performance,I thought it worked really well with the gun control segment.

I can't get into John Legend. I've tried. Everything just seems so over the top with him, and looks like he's smiling to himself all the time, remembering some inside joke that no one else is in on.

He's like a one-trick pony, but you don't even like the one trick.
