Celebration 2025 Email from Paisley Park, "PR 2.0"

Sent yesterday. They literally said "Purple Rain 2.0", as if we haven't had enough PR since they took over, and the disastrous Celebration last month that was insulting. So...no ATWIAD 40th. Vote with your pocket. Links taken out.

Greetings Purple Fam!

CELEBRATION 2024: In The Books!

It’s hard to believe that it’s been a month since we wrapped up Celebration 2024! We want to extend a heartfelt thank you for joining us and Prince Fams across the world in our continuous and incredible journey of honoring Prince (and Purple Rain this year). Your love, presence and enthusiasm elevate this event and bring it to life.

We hope you enjoyed celebrating Prince and the 40th Anniversary of Purple Rain this year in downtown Minneapolis at First Ave, State Theatre and the Block Party in the rain, tours of our beloved Paisley Park, LIVE MUSIC and so much more!

Your participation made this year's Celebration exceptional. We want to express our gratitude to this amazing community that shares a love for Prince and his passion for music, art and creativity. THANK U for your support and involvement this truly helps keep the legacy of Prince and Paisley Park alive.

This just proves what I've suspected for the last month straight: that they're scrapping SDEs and music releases to put all of their focus on Celebration and merch.

If they had any musical releases lined up whatsoever, they'd be hyping that shit up instead of already shilling the next Celebration that is literally a whole fucking year away. This is it, don't expect anything of value ever again.

Firstly, I cannot take them seriously unless they stop using the word "fams." It's so cringey. What kind of fuckery is this: partnering with fans in their area of expertise, event planning...? So they are getting fans to do the work that they should be doing? But here's a fan suggestion - I won't even charge you a consulting fee for it: focus on releasing previously unreleased music, concert footage, and video.

This really reads like a joke.

Although I doubt I'm buying it (not in the budget), I do hope they get the PR:SDE right and it's the new, definitive version for a LONG time. Yes, it's Prince's biggest album, biggest movie and favorite "look" of the fans, but c'mon. Next please.

If Londell and Charles are in charge of putting it together, then they won't. They can't even make a fucking social media post without typos and/or incorrect information.

But it doesn't matter because they aren't going to put together any more SDEs. They're just gonna milk Celebration and Paisley Park until the well dries up.

the people in charge of the estate are obviously clueless and perhaps even insane.

all that their various communications do is incite stress and anger at this point.

Like Disney, the Prince estate could easily break my wallet if they didn't have morons running things that have no idea what it is I like about the property they control. They could have all my money but this year (and evidently next?) they're focusing on things that will get none of my money.

It's crazy how out of touch these people can be.

It's really sad that they're putting more focus on celebrations than new releases, but I'm not surprised since clowns are running the estate. Charles and Londell should do us all a favor and resign before they mess things up even more. And like many others, I'm tired of Purple Rain now. People should boycott these celebrations from now on smile

Londell has already explained difficulties around releases. People who refuse to listen and continue to moan are complete idiots (yes, it is that simple).

So, basically, it's the greedy, undeserved, unwothy "family's" fault there's a hold on releases? Disgraceful.

Yeah, and the difficulties are entirely self-inflicted by Londell and the estate. He's choosing to hold everything up for stupid arbitrary reasons.

If there are any idiots here, it's the people who keep believing that Londell is a reliable and honest man even after he keeps proving y'all wrong.

^ Exactly. Oh, it's difficult? Too bad -- that became their job to figure out when they grifted their way into managing the Estate of someone like Prince. Prince was a musician, why wouldn't you think managing music releases would be central to keeping his legacy alive?

If it's too hard for them they can step down. But they'd rather make excuses about why they aren't releasing music and keep grifting.

My point is that the current estate has no interest in assembling and releasing SDEs because they can make a shitload of money just coasting by on Celebration tickets and merchandise. To them, curating and releasing musical sets is too much effort with not enough profit.

So instead of giving vault tracks to the fans, they'll just withhold them as incentive for fans to pay $1000+ to come to Celebration each year and hear about an hour's worth of exclusive material.

This means something, no?

So fast?

Maybe/possibly they 're-did' their deal or some sort of compromise with Netflix, to 're-use' th' PR material 'again'

...or...

The musical is more expensive and could get a later release ? ... like, to keep the PR shit alive until then...

ALL just speculation of course...

-

Notice carefully how in-a-nearly-PUHLEAZE-begging style they want 'us' the 'fams' to help them out with 'ideas' and 'feedback' ...

...some sort of input so to say?! Huh?

SO, maybe... hell why not take the chance and bomb them with what we think?!

-

(...obviously these 'lawyers' miss (all) the creativity that's much needed in todays music industry, which just simply isn't theirs to handle, so it seems.)

-

Will 'we', the 'fams' help?

I think it's time for the estate to tell us about their plans for future releases and if there's anything that prevents certain releases. The problem is that they think we are whiners. But they only have themselves to blame for the frustration that keeps growing among the fans because the lack of communication.

What did he say was the reason for not releasing any new music at all? Is it the Netflix deal again? I thought that only held up video footage (and he could literally approve the current edit today).

He's a charlatan.

I wonder how many people will fall for that after they even had a dance off between fans
while the songs were being played, and other 'fans' were cheering and clapping them on,
all the while lol

It must have been excruciating for real fans of his music.
