nothing released from the Estate on June 7th

Hi folks.

For a day that Prince had numerous great shows, how hard would it be to release

1. any of the birthday shows, 84 maybe tease 1 track from the upcoming 40th monster 10 disc Purple Rain set

2. another rare find tape like piano rehearsals

3. The Undertaker both MOVIE and music

ANYTHING> greater than what they did today which was nothing.

Digital distribution of any of the above is easy, cheap, and a way to show you still care.

Shaking my head

Best

Andrew

Even just one surprise unreleased single would have been cool. Or a hint at what releases they're currently working on, if anything at all. They could have done anything other than just peddling their overpriced tickets to what will surely be another underwhelming Celebration under Londell & company rolleyes

agree. Head scratcher as usual.

I will be in Minn in late July so I will go for the special tour of Paisley again and see if I can find out anything being planned.

I miss this dude so much, and the estate has to be better than this.

It would have been so cool to wake up this morning with a new announcement that “G-Spot” has just been released as a single,to be followed by the August release of the 10-disc Purple Rain 40th Anniversary Super Deluxe Edition.

Having a glass o' wine and listening to A LOVE BIZZARE right now - everyone chillax and celebrate even if the estate is irrevocably fucked... we'll always have the music he gave us. Happy 6/7 to everyone.

The Estate is just flat out weird. It seems that it would go without saying that every year on his birthday that something new should come out! That alone would keep his name circulating, and fans happy. Every June 7th= Prince day. Alot of others automatically understand this already, right?Opportunity HORRIBLY missed. Big fail.

a series of birthday releases would be good. maybe a 7" each year, maybe even of something he recorded on that day (or month) that year.

They're not going to do that. They'll announce anything closer to the celebration at the end of the month.

At every turn, the legacy of Prince gets pointed in the wrong direction.

Obviously this estate isn't going to do anything competent that would get fans excited. We're just suggesting things that the estate should be doing to honor Prince's birthday each year.

They used the 7 june post as advertising for the "celebration". Quite sad

Well, but that's still just one opinion.

None of us are business leaders running a dead rock star's estate. So our opinions are just that - opinions. The estate has hinted as revealing something around the time of the celebration anyway. Just because nothing was said or done on June 7 is irrelevant. That was just folk's expectations, not anything based in reality.

Of course I have my own wish list. But - until it is announced, I ain't sweatin' it. Something will happen, then I can judge my next move.

If you have a problem with me, text me. If you don't have my number, you don't know me well enough to have a problem with me.

Are they not supposed to advertise the event? Or is it because fans put weight on June 7 - something Prince scoffed at throughout most of his life (ie: the idea of celebrating a birthday, etc)?

As long as Duane Tudahl is still running the vault, be it June 7th or later this month, there is nothing to get excited about.

His self-serving 2 interviews that he did this week where he wants to show off how much he knows but the more he talks, the more I'm convinced that as good as his books are that fans help provide the information for him along with work orders, that doesn't mean he should be running the vault by himself. Again, hundreds of fans fact check the book and provide info.

I enjoy the books but an author with a tv background should not be in charge of a vast music catalog who stopped caring about Prince in 1988. Not sure why the higher profile in the past month or two but maybe if be keeps doing interviews, that will provide enough rope. The Susan Rogers Sunset Sound interview a few years back showed how wildly inaccurate he is by himself.

It is a vast disservice to fans. At least Michael Howe stepped aside with grace.

We are all frustrated but each year that goes by, things are getting worse & worse, and not just on the Londell & Charles side.

So if expecting a huge super deluxe announcement later this June if you want but again, with that guy running it, lower those expectations to a set of more 7" edits.

Duane was involved with the three SDEs we've gotten so far, all of which were assembled before Londell & company took over. If anyone is to blame for the lack of progress in the last few years, I highly doubt it's Duane.

The lack of progress is up to LC Millan...Netflix is running currently a lawsuit with the Estate/MC Millan because the disagreement about the netflix documentaries and other troubles with Sony/Warner with the Mc Millan/Spicer Estate...so my expectations are at this stage very low about the future!

Londell and Charles need to step down and let somebody who knows what they're doing take over.

But how can we have them step down in a legal way? And who needs to take over?

That's the big question...

WHO?!

At this point I'm pretty sure selecting someone randomly (e.g. via a lottery) would lead to a better outcome. lol
