Also, wasn't it in 88 ? This AI Prince looks like the 1984 version of Prince.

Absolutley, but it does look rather cool though.

Sounds great, but the visuals are creepy. eek

Especially since 90% of the facial renditions don't really look like him.

I for one look forward what AI can do with all things Prince.

Shit is, most of us are getting older and not all that familiar with the endless possibilities of AI, how to work with it, etc. (Before anyone attacks me, i'll speak for myself).

Imagine all the advantages it can create for example with unreleased Prince stuff.

For sure it can't be worse than Prince videos he had made (and never released) for a lot of his songs, and for others. Those (bootleg) video's we get to see from his protégées for example, from late eighties early nineties look so damn boring (to me).

I really think this can upscale Prince for a new era and maybe new fans.

This AI genrated stuff is indeed mediocre, because they melt other people with Prince...

With AI they can make a video for instance from an old analog role of film used for a photoshoot, where you have those many small tests pictures (don't find the word in english), someone told me that recently.

I'm one of those people who've always thought that AI will one day be able to do everything humans are able to do. Yes, everything. Absolutely everything. Without any single exception. And then it will be able to do everything better. Then a lot better. It's called the technological singularity. People have been talking about it for decades. And most people have been dismissing that idea for decades as well. Without any valid argument, I think. But it will happen. We're not there yet. I don't know if it will happen in 5 years or in 50 years, but it will certainly not happen in 500 years or in a million years.

I still don't know what to make of it. We're already witnessing the fact that it can generate garbage and this means that it will become harder and harder to know what's true or not on the internet. It was already hard before, but it will become worse. Just search for "VASA-1" on YouTube and you'll be impressed (or frightened).

With enough time, AI will become way better at generating quality material (text, audio, music, video, art in general). What I fear is that at some point it will become so good at generating good outputs that part of us will stop caring about whether it comes from a human / a real artist or not.

Imagine an AI generating Prince songs better than anything Prince could write when he was alive. Imagine an AI generating dozens of original (previously unheard) songs that sound like they were written and recorded in 1986. Should we enjoy those songs? Can we?

I'll stop rambling now.

To start with the end of your talk, yes.

We will be enjoying music because we know what we like to hear, either it be made by a humans or computers. I believe it will find it's way to any customer.

And I'm not scared, I can still see what's computer generated or not.

The human eye and brain is unbeatable imho.

The internet as we know it, with all that comes with it, from the start to AI, is very young!!!

Don't forget that! Nearly what... 30, 40 years old? That's nothing.

For now the internet is still not what it promissed us to be, a thing of information to help us all.

On the contrary, it is a tool to sell shit, to collect data and sell you more shit through commercials.

Those who don't understand that are blind and deaf. All big IT and internet companies live from advertisement. Simple as that.

But I still believe in it. It needs to grow, it needs to be organised.

To me it is a completely (and lovely) chaos right now. smile

A fucked up thing and no one really knows where to go with it. I'tslike contemporary art. wink

But, right now, it has serious dangers. Politics can be influenced, wars are being held on the internet, rather than boots on the ground for example. Poeple need to learn more, and understand that learning never eve stops in one's lifetime. Then second educvation, education, education, and awareness. The whole world needs to invest in that first. Thne you can prevent stupidness.

For music it will be exactly the same.

Remember those music industry generated boys bands and girls bands, Thats over, accept for Asia right now. They have now their own call on popmusic, and also that is slowly getting over the top.

Probably we will get exatcly the same musical situation generated by AI.

And also that will find an end at some point in time.

Technology (and earning money that is connected with it) will still grow very sloooooow.

Certainly at the speed the way it's going now.

I honestly am dissapointed how slow everything goes.

But again, I still believe in technogy and most of all, those who make it; humans.

Why? Bevcause AI or whatever can make things better than humans for a while. But pull the plug, and you have nothing anymore. There always will be humans and their creativity and that's what technology needs.

What Ai never can do it's inventing a new style of music for istance. They can try, but it' s not like how humans will react to a previous style for example.

Being a human is so much more complex, something algorhythms never can understand.

They will never be able to calculate, or try to create something original without the input of humans.
