Just My Imagination, best version? Of all the circulating versions, mainly from 87/88 aftershows, which is your favourite?

I love all the versions, any with Noon Rendevouz attached to it are the best. I can't believe these shows haven't been released yet, just amazing how incompetent this Estate is when it comes to revealing Prince's legacy to the average fan who has no idea about stuff like this.

I had a tape with many live versions and I love the noon rendezvous addition and vibe. That said I always appreciate more Prince, so the guitar solo on the Trojan Horse is a welcome version which I also love deeply. Camden is also brilliant in his own right and mood.

True, but we're talking about Prince's (live) versions here. I wonder if he ever re-recorded a studio verison of it. - I have to relisten to the Camden and Munich versions again to remeber the difference... The Trojan Horse version, I heard a thousand times... never get tired of that one. "The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves. And wiser people so full of doubts" (Bertrand Russell 1872-1972)

One of the best songs ever created. The songwriting, the pace, the vocals and harmony. Practically an unskippable track. Motown was an absolute juggernaut. Stevie Wonder, Gladys Knight, Smokey Robinson, Marvin Gaye, Aretha Franklin, The Supremes and so many more graced the studio at Hitsville.

Word...Motown was the greatest collection of hitmakers, songwriters, musicians, and singing and dancing talent, EVER assembled on one label at one time, in one little house, in one city EVER created...theres nothing like it, before or after...Berry Gordy (and his staff) is beyond genius for creating and sustaining that excellence for so long...their music is timeless, and still slams to this very day...i was listening to my Four Tops playlist recently, and the power and beauty and soul of Levi Stubbs Jr.'s voice put tears in my eyes...amazing

I love the version where he gets the crowd to sing sweetly girls then boys at the end.
