Hardrock Lover

I always listen to the single download from Tidal as it sounds a bit more crisp to me
and it actually has an ending, instead of being mixed into Mr Nelson like on the album.
Another song I tend to get lost in once I put it on. The guitar is so sultry and sexual
and so dirty. The emotions he could make you feel with just some chords, wow. And I
love the he started to release some more risky/smutty material again toward the end
there. I love his religious music but I also like his nasty stuff, the one does not have to
exclude the other imo. Just like adoring 80s prince automatically means there is nothing
for you to enjoy in later periods of his output.

Agree with all this. 7 mins and it still feels short. I love everything he did with Andy and even enjoy her small parts on Rocknroll Loveaffair and The Breakdown.

Other favourites:
This Could B Us
Anotherlove
1000 X's & O's
June
Hsrdrocklover - never forget sneaking to listen to it in my works car park after it appeared on soundcloud one afternoon
Free Urself - love the live P&M versions
Look At Me, Look At U
Stare
Revelation - what a song. His final masterpiece.
Stand Up And B Strong - love the shared vocals. Lyrics appear so personal even though they're not his.
1010 (Rin Tin Tin)
When She Comes - love the layered backing vocals on W2A version
.
Growers:
FunknRoll AOA version
Tictactoe - just thought it was a daft song about blind people but after seeing a line quoted in Mayte's book I revisited
Whitecaps - Hannah's vocal used to annoy me but like it now once P appears
Ain't About 2 Stop - I'm now a Rita bot

Baltimore is one of my favourite Prince songs,

It's a nice song and I love the last instrumental bits with just the "ooo hoo hoo hoooohooo" vocals.

But why is it one of your favourites? One of your favourite late era prince tracks or just in general
one of your favourites? Because of the message? Or the music?

aka The "Free" Factor.

Which also has a lovely message... but I wouldn't wish that track on my worst enemy,

you mentioned a few songs I haven't listened to in a while, going to check them out again thumbs up!

and I agree with your statement about andy. I also love her little pop ups on those songs. they truly had something very good going on together.

about Baltimore, I love the music. Of course there is nothing wrong with the lyrics, it's just that lyrics aren't really a factor to me when considering my favourite music, probably because Ebnglish isn't my first language so the quality of a lyrics, good or awful, doesn't affect me nearly as much as a Dutch language song would.

It's a shame Glasscutter didn't make it to any album. It should have been on 3121 instead of Fury.

...but, "Fury" was about a seriously deep relationship breakdown, whereas, "Glasscutter" was about hard nipples...

Fury resulted in one of his best ever TV performances.

The Guilty Ones would have fitted on nearly any of his 80s projects, stunning

Prince Vault mentions a tape in the vault of this track and lyrics in the 21 Nights book. I’m intrigued too

When eye lay my hands on U (live version) is my favorite Prince song of the latter years.
99.9% of everything I say is strictly for my own entertainment
