Apollonia 6 interview and the incident at Paisley Park

So on the recent Apollonia Studio 6 interview with, well, Apollonia 6 (part 3 of 3), Apollonia spills the beans on what happened at Paisley Park that got her banned.

In short, she was sitting with members of Prince's family at the one year after his passing 'Celebration' in 2017 and took a photo of the Revolution playing. She was then approached by a woman (whom she would not name...at least not yet) who screamed at her that she was denigrating Prince by taking pictures and nearly had her arrested. She did have security confiscate Apollonia's phone and ensure the photos were erased. The woman apparently has major influence with Prince's legacy/Paisley Park as she served Apollonia a ban for life. The woman now claims it wasn't about the picture but was about Apollonia being 'drunk and beligerent'. Apollonia entirely denies that claim and s litigating this issue, still, four years later.

Any guesses or knowledge on who that woman might have been? We know it isn't Tyka as she was sitting with Apollonia at the time.

I really wanted to be on Apollonia's side when the whole lemon cake thing happened. It was a stupid drama moment, but we saw just how fucking insane Sheila is all this time. (Prince calling her a psychopath became more and more evident.)

But then she went on the Sunset Sound interview, and claimed she was writing "The Glamorous Life" and "Manic Monday" by bringing... an empty notebook? The notebook didn't even look that old to begin with! Sunset Sound people have given her the side eye in person and subsequently when talking to folks like Matt Fink. (I was screaming "rub a pencil over the other page to see the impression!")

So I can't really lend any credibility to Apollonia at this point I don't believe she and Prince were suddenly going to work together again. She's not even a singer (which is CLEAR at this point). What is Prince going to do with her??? Not a damn thing. Was she drunk at this gathering? Maybe. Because taking a photo of The Revolution doesn't seem to be a big infraction on anyone's part on any level. This woman who came up to her clearly had one of two things. 1) a lack of insight about taking a photo vs Prince's legacy; or 2) was sick of Apples sucking down some liquor and being a sloppy drunk. Where was Patricia's hubby to keep her in check through all this? You telling me they just let her loose on her own like that? lol

These people have to know that common sense wins out, and that fans will check a bitch on something they know is true or not. Now while we don't know everything, some things are rather fucking obvious. What's not obvious is Apollonia's insight to any of that.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

I will say back then she did have a natural beauty to her. Good face, hair, cheekbones. Great tits, curvy body. She had the look. And Prince often went for a look, rather than substance. In all honesty, Vanity couldn't sing that well. She was a decent actress. But Apples was the lesser of those two.

They can't tell me there wasn't any other girl that would've fit in that role, and been named Apollonia instead. For whatever reason, Prince thought she was hot enough to be in front of the camera.

She was a bit of a diva on Falcon Crest and butted heads with Jane Wyman. It's no wonder she's not had a great acting career. She's sorat C-list at best.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

You are harsh on judging looks, damn.
She was hot in the movie, cmon.

Anyway, the world of prince associates is kind of nuts, that much is clear. So much odd behaviour. No wonder the estate has two weirdos running it. All related to the weirdness of prince himself ofc, so it all makes sense really.

To be honest almost all the nutty behavior and antics and whatever, all stem from that era and it's mostly the females, be it Shelia and Jill, Apollonia etc... you can easily see the difference with that crew than say with say Judith Hill and Andy Allo

The gag for me of the whole thing was that Janet's Nasty was written for a Vanity 6 reunion project. I had never heard that before, and it never even occurred to me, though now it seems so obvious. It would have been genius move, though Prince would have been LIVID.

Bacl to the original post. Wasn't there a "no photos" rule in effect at the time and A, as a non-paying guest, should have followed that rule. Was the woman who screamed at her named Sharon?

Then again, we're talking about the woman who claimed she was "Prince's wife" after he died and has done nothing but struggle for attention.

Welcome to "the org", laytonian… come bathe with me.

This is what she (Jill) posted on her facebook:

Yes it's true. We were banned from Paisley Park. However, I was not present during this time that Apollonia took the photo. I was in fact airborne on my way to Mpls arriving at midnight. 2 hours after this hoopla occurred. Lol. Drama. I was informed the next day that I could not attend any events at Paisley. Me, Apollonia,Susan & Brenda. Do I care? No. Does it make me angry that I was also told that Hucky called a meeting prior to all of this informing our security that the Revolution wanted to make sure that I was kept separated from them during this event at Paisley? Not really it makes me laugh. I had no idea I rattled people as much as I do. Do I care? Not really. They can play the game. But I want to make it clear, I was never in it for the game. I am for real. I don't front. For the record joel weinshanker and shannon Pratt and scott march are behind the ban. Scott, they made him the face of the ban.

Honestly, I'm tired of these people. I'll take Jill Jones in 1987 on a Paisley Park album, or in Purple Rain the film. Anything else, not interested.

I'll take Apollonia's tits not in Lake Minnetonka. Anything else, not interested.

Brenda and Susan shouldn't be in it, at all. These people are the worst part of Prince's legacy; a bunch of catty heifers lending to the stereotype that women are catty heifers.

Sheila thinks she's the grieving widow and an heir to some throne she was fully dis-invited to every be around anyway. Engaged twice, married zero.

Apollonia apparently wrote most of Purple Rain... in her head.

Jill's such a rebel (eye roll). Yeah, such a bad ass... defined by whom? The Revolution probably stands behind Wendy, whose sister was dating Prince the same time Prince was dipping his dick in Jill's well, as well as God knows who else. So that's a whole lemon cake no one is going to bite into it.

The truth is we will never know the truth. Jill's not telling anything that doesn't benefit her "I'm for real real, not for play play" routine. Same with Patty Kotero or anyone else.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

Totally agree, that era seems to be honestly where all the issues are, the back and forths. I wrote this I wrote that, and in reality according to people running the studios and there in sessions they didn't write anything. I mean when I don't see Morris Hayes saying these things, I don't hear Judith Hill and Andy Allo getting into fights over what they wrote and didn't write, maybe its also the fact that ones I just mentioned are WAY more talented and the others were just PRINCE hiring eye candy for himself.

I was at the 'Family' party in 2017. Someone that looked like Apples was in the crowd, and seemed a little drunk. That said, the family were acting like lords of the manor. They were even charging for an 'audience'. They sat in a corner 'VIP' area.I remember hearing some of them slagging off Jill Jones.

At the end of the day, they were all jockeying for relevance.

Yeah, and at the time it made for a great story. Leading man is dating leading woman. Because quite frankly, those Princely fingers were preeeeetty darn close to that labia with nothing but a lil' ol kooch napkin separating the two. But she wasn't exactly faithful anyway.

For a while Apollonia lived next door to Carmen Electra. I forget if it was a Cribs episode or what, but they were following Carmen around (because in the 90s, who gave a fuck about Patricia Kotero anymore?!), and she just knocked on the door next to her condo, and there was Patty and her (second) hubby, Kevin Bernhardt. Dude was hot as fuck, too. Bernhardt has a lot of "uncredited" screenwriting, etc. He was a soap opera regular with roles on General Hospital and was on Dynasty a bit.

Funny enough, he later worked on a movie with Clarence Williams, III.

Fun story - she was married during Purple Rain but was dating David Lee Roth! That's bonkers. All that Purple Rain movie, tour hysterica etc, and while he's "might as well JUMP"ing his way on the charts and out of his band, he's dippin' hard in Lake Minnetonka's waters.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

Fuuuuck, not again!

In short, these heifers were arguing over who made a lemon cake that Prince seemed to love. Sheila E. had a song or something saying it was inspired by her making him a cake.

Then Brenda Bennett chimes in and said it was her who did it, and her ex-husband (and Prince's former lighting designer) LeRoy Bennett backed up her claim.

I forget where Patricia landed in it all.

It was the dumbest fucking argument over nothing, simply to have a one-up on someone else.

"I made the cake."

"No, I made the cake!"

"No, it was me. I made the lemon cake. He loved me best!"

The fact that it went down at all is the point, though.
But yes, that link shows much better how it went down. Kudos on them for sorting it out like that.

About him cutting HeShe out of his life the last five years, she did make a big statement on Twitter (that was up for a long time until people started noting it and she removed it) about no longer working with Prince. That was in the middle of 2011 I believe. I have the screen shots somewhere.

There was also the note that he called her a psychopath, but to whom I don't know/remember. It could be from that money raising thing Patricia talked about. I talked to Sheila in 2004 and she was going on about helping children and she had just started the Little Bunny Foundation (sic) in that time frame. But yeah, where are the schools??? It sickens me that she's so blatantly used prince on her merchandise and stage set and dresses like him. Like she's the heir-apparent and grieving widow all in one. Fuck off. I'm sick of her triffling ass. She is desperate to be relevant and she can only do that digging up Prince and propping him up.

At first, I was on Patricia's side, then she went bonkers with her Sunset Sound interview and I thought - they're all crazy. People give Susannah shit, when in fact she's the most logical and down to earth person, super sweet, and has what - brought out the "Starfish and Coffee" picture, at best? That's it? No memoir, or waving flags about this or that. She chimed in on a FB post. I've talked to her a few times. She's the only other memoir I'd wanna read. The Melvoins have had an interesting life and she has quite the story to tell. She's not perfect but I'd have a 5 minute talk with her rather than an hour of bullshit like Apollonia.

It's all such stupid shit. But shame on them for tarnishing an otherwise amazing legacy of music and art.
