From what I heard they need more vault tracks to complete the Symbol SDE, to have 3 disks like the others.

There's 26 songs, roughly 1 hour and 56 minutes. And the quality of the tracks are significantly better, compared to the D&P outakes.

Have you heard them all?

Are there many alternative versions of already released tracks.

It would be cool to know the track list.

A set a similar size to the 1999 super deluxe.

If it's already preys much done they should get this out soon.

Give it 6 months and we'll all be ready for it.

True. I guess it depends on what exists, or what they can find, and what they think fits. The rumours of them wanting to make it 3 disks may not be correct. . Any speculation on the live shows for the Symbol SDE?

The 2/18/93 Glam Slam show was multi cam also. I've seen the 4/2/93 show from Detroit and it's great as well. I would prefer an Act 1 show instead of Act II, since a lot of the prince material was dropped.

It would be great to hear the Symbol vault tracks but the cost of the Diamonds and Love vinyl box set would have been huge. They would be reducing the market if they had gone for that option. More copies of separate SDE box sets will sell than a combined one even if the total price is better for a combined one.

Due to de-merging the joint SDE, it’s pending and likely released next year is what people in the know know (I’m not quite in that circle). Don’t know if that means there will be a Love Symbol SDE at the same time but will have to wait and see, whilst taking in the D&P SDE.
There may or may not be something coming!

Yes.

2 Band Demos of released tracks.
1 Solo (Demo - although it's unlikely he went beyond this recording).
3 "Early/ Original Versions".
1 "Full Version"

The deluxe editions have always been a hot mess. Take 2017's Purple Rain for instance. The brilliantly merged Our Destiny/ Roadhouse Garden tracks were recorded after the tyrannical purple yoda had instructed all purple rain recording sessions must cease at once. From an inspired decision by the Prince Estate to a dumb af one, inclusion of the lackluster Dance Electric - which happens to share the same drumbeat as the superior, but absent, All Day All Night (oddly enough recorded same day as Our Destiny & Roadhouse Garden) - a song which was recorded not only after recording sessions had finished, but after the Purple Rain album and movie were released as well. Slightly mind-boggling. Of course complicating matters even further, Prince decided to record Pop Life, one of his best known songs, during the Purple Rain sessions. And that ended up on Around the World In a Day, an album he had mostly recorded before even embarking on the Purple Rain tour.

Take these compilations as what they are. An aural analogy to what it feels like being on holiday, stopping by an ice cream parlor, getting spoilt for choice with the different flavors, and ending up pigging out on all of them until such time you have to vomit from the self-indulgence. A lesson for life perhaps. Or alternatively, check out the main brother BrothaCharles Ward, who does a sterling job of putting together ample compilations of material from the same timeframe, with better sequencing of tracks so the songs flow better. The Estate are well aware of his presence and only seem annoyed by him when they release actual product with the same songs as one of his collections, resulting in it being taken down.

Has anyone here never given a briefing to corporate executives?

If you want the Estate to listen, don't write rambling posts that are like unedited books

Use bullet points.
Omit emotions.
Then review and refine

There's a reason the acronym TL:DR came into being. I'm sure there is valuable info here but multi screen swipes is too many.
Welcome to "the org", laytonian… come bathe with me.

It was an amazing project, don't get me wrong. And hasn't 6 years flown by? Speaking of figures, Purple Rain was what made Prince the biggest star of 1984. Which was 16 years before 2000, the new millennium. 16 years after 2000 he was dead. Just mere coincidence or something deeper? Look hard enough in the bible and you'll see the number 11 reappear over and over. Look a bit harder still though, and you'll also see the number 4 and 7 appear a few times. And probably other numbers too. It's all a bit of fun really, whatever orgers' frequent sanctimonous nitpicking over what should or should not appear in the deluxe compilations is trying to achieve. At the end of the day, a cigar is just a cigar.

In 1984 everyone knew who prince was, he was that big a star. Even Michael Jackson (pictured) wanted to know what all the fuss was about, evidently. And evidently Prince would never reach this commerical high again. Though I think it's generally accepted Diamonds and Pearls was his third best selling album after PR and Batman.

You really shouldn't. If these tracks get out, there will be no Love Symbol SDE. Ergo, no Act 1/ 2 shows or remasters of music videos.

Agreed. I would love for these to arrive on a prince SDE so hopefully the sooner the better, but for the moment I could wait. I'm still digesting D&P SDE.
If this list is real I'll do hope they will add more to it, because D&P still misses alot.

It's one thing to have the tracks but it's another thing to patronize, especially when I know you're not that dumb. Meaning: unless you have first hand information saying otherwise, there's no world in which they don't move forward with a release they were planning just because a few thousand diehard weirdos have heard the tracks.
