It appreciation

i was listening to a podcast, about sott, which featured andrea swenson, and the male host half jokingly says that this song is what it feels like to be horny

which is right!

i think a lot of people think it is prince in sleepwalk mode, but its one of his best dark horny songs, a song about obsessive, myopic, single minded horniness, that feeling of not being able to think about anything else (itd fit on the black album)

but he doesnt sound perked up by it, he sounds kind of pissed off, even despite its intensity (vocally especially), almost like he cant be bothered, which is why a lot of ppl think its uninspired but i think that maybe makes it a song about a guy tired out by his horniness

also funny/brilliant that this song about horniness was incorporated into forever in my life on the tour

but then he does sing 'its so divine' so maybe that is a perfect pairing cos sex did often become something much more than just sex in princes songs, and even on a song called It, prince wrote about that

I'm an insatiable freak and deviant and I can confirm this is the soundscape to my mind 90 percent of the day. God make it stop.

People who can't hear the sheer brilliance in this song don't deserve hearing.

All through the lyric sheet within 'Sign "O" The Times', the word "it" was always printed in capitol letters.

That album is as horny as you, funkbaby&thehornyhorns lol

It's one of the lesser songs on SOTT. That and "Slow Love" could've been replaced with almost anything, and it'd have been an even better set.

"Moonbeam Levels" should've found a home in "Slow Love"'s spot.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

I love it from the SOTT movie when he combines it with Forever in My life and also from the Act I tour when he does that little rap : "You seem perplexed...etc".

That would explain why I loved it when I was a teenager (it actually blew my mind) and just find it okay nowadays (compared to the rest of the album). You know, testosterone levels and all. lol
