Go Appreciation

I just been listening to my Parade era outtakes playlist.

It finishes with Go.

What a great song this is.I rarely seen it mentioned when people talk about unreleased Prince songs.

This is truly album worthy and the whole world should be able to hear it in pristine quality.

I would rate this in the top 5 of songs yet to be officially released.

We need more songs released ASAP from 1985/86.
Something BIG Is Coming.

I'll be honest, I've not heard that one, sorry 😐

It's okay. I might appreciate it more if a professional-quality copy was released.

This song IS incredible but yeah i'd listen to it more if a better copy circulated. actually, i take that back upon further listening, the best source out there is actually very listenable, but still...

now something that REALLY needs a better copy out there, we got the power!!!

I love Go! Some of the high synths are weird 2 my ears at certain points in the song. At other times I like some of them, overall its a very interesting track. He's saying go but the lyrics and vocals are so pleading. He doesn't want her 2 go anywhere, I think. The drumming/drum machine seems kind of basic, and somethings about the song's elements reminds me of Splash. Anyone else get that? At around 2:46 Prince says something like Shockadella, does anyone know what he says, its right before he starts sha sha sha-ing and the horns/synth-that-sounds-like horns come in? I'm positive that I would love it even more if ever a great sounding version should appear!

It's pretty damn good. This forum's unquenchable thirst for "pristine" has warped their ability to interpret top-shelf outtakery. It's like when gen-Z comments on a VHS capture saying they can't watch it because it looks like it was shot on a potato.

His phaser chug-chugga percussion effects maybe bleed into the tape too much for the org? It's like watching an old low-budget slasher, there's a certain suspension of disbelief integral to genuine muddy bootlegs.

Sometimes i miss my crappy bootlegs

Black album never sounded better than when it was sped up, hissy af, and muddy and messy.
